Are You Allowed To Ask....

Are you allowed to ask for reviewers for your product here without having to spend money in the "Warriors for Hire" section?

You can contact some reputable members to see if they would want to review the product / service.

Giving out review copies, unless it's discounted only, will cause a lot of freebie takers looking for them.

Just don't expect an answer to every PM you send.

...and expect a number of people to report it.

      See Alexa's post above this.

Join product creator groups on Skype or Facebook, build contacts, particularly in whatever specific niche your product is in. You need to get your product reviewed by genuine people, rather than just someone who wants a free copy - and who you'll probably never hear from again after they get your product.

If you're planning to create a WSO, there's a good (free to join) Facebook group here

On the contrary - that's one of the things you expressly shouldn't do. That's "p.m. spam" and will (rightly) get you into trouble.

Yes, Gary - there's a special section for it. It's here: Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You (as you can see, many of the threads' titles begin with the words "[reviewers wanted]" and this is how and where you should do it. (I think you have to pay $5, to ask for reviewers there.)

Don't start sending messages to "prominent members" you don't know, asking them to review your product. That's just "spam". Some people get many of these requests every day and they're a nuisance, and it's not encouraged here.

It really isn't, Nico - it's completely the wrong answer, and it's encouraging someone to spam "prominent members" here asking for reviews. It was partly because of the problems this causes that the solution (as mentioned above) was introduced in the first place.
