Generally, how many articles do you need to go autopilot?

Hello!

Everyday, when you seek information for something on a specific topic, you get to these blogs which are inactive, they have like 200 articles but there is never anything more on the page written, and they still rank in high (like 1-5 place in google) and these seem to earn a lot of money.

I have a blog of my own, I write articles on weight loss. I want to cover everything in that area to make it a site for a person who wants to lose weight and there is everything you need to know. But how many articles do you generally need to just one day just let it stay there and never do anything more so I can continue with another site and so on?

And also, I started the blog for like 5 days ago, and it seems like the days when I don't advertise the blog, I get like 12 unique visitors and the days I really try hard, I get like 120 unique visitors but that only lasts for one day. Should I just skip the analytics and just write whenever I feel like writing and don't care about the statistics and hopefully see it goes up in the end? Or how do you think I should do?

Also, when there comes a day you don't want your blog anymore, what can you generally charge to sell your website? The few people who have read the site says it is high quality, my articles are generally 800 words, I have currently five written, and I have a rare domain name, it was recently on an auction and the domain name itself came up to $2200, then the buyer withdraw because his company went bankrupt and by mistake the domain was released and I bought it.

I'm sorry if you didn't really understand what I meant, but I hope you did.

Thanks.

If you started the blog only a few days ago, I wouldn't expect much more traffic than you're getting. IMO post good quality content, love what you're writing, and then promote each post as widely as you have time to do. Encourage people to follow you, and opt-in. Consider SEO for each article you post so you can start getting a few key articles that produce regular SE traffic for you.

To me that's some fundamentals you can and should do now. Then I'd start writing articles for other people's blogs and email newsletters, and get yourself some guest posters too. Bulid your network.

    Hi Ginhev,

you seem to be doing really well if you can get 120 unique visitors some days and you have only had your blog for a few days.

One thing you can do is to interlink links on your blog to others on it as Google likes this and it will help your search engine rankings.

Also make sure you label by using keywords for each article, this will help with Google as well.

It can take time to get a lot of traffic from Google, so you need to be quite patient, but keep up the good work and I am sure you will get some great results.

One site you could look at for some good tips on getting traffic to you blog is:
www.problogger.net They have lots of amazingly good tips there.

I don't think you can ever go totally auto pilot. Search engines love fresh original content and updated content.

The blog needs time to grow and good content will keep people coming back and attract new people to come. Do not expect a miracle over night, it ain`t coming.

It looks as though you are doing well for starters just keep doing what you are doing and give it a little time to grow, like a flower or any other plant. Good content is the sunshine that makes people come back and backlinks are the water to keep it alive. You need both and the third factor is time.

You will want to just keep on writing at your blog. Write whatever you want to write so that it sounds natural and so that you can sustain the writing through enjoyment. As other Warriors here have said, it's important to just keep going and give it time. You should try to use some SEO techniques, too.
