Why are Headers usually so JUNKY looking?

We obviously have a lot of very informed people here...so I was wondering if anybody knew a good and inexpensive source for headers. There is so much junk out there...I figured I'd ask here...

Any ideas, fellow Warriors?

    Not sure what you mean either? To me the weakness of many graphic headers is how similar they all look! The flavor of the month will be dark foreboding designs and soon everybody's header will look that way. I think the designers copy each other.

    Probably because the people using those headers opted for an...

    A lot of times less is more when it comes to headers. If you look at all the biggest sites on the internet like facebook, twitter, youtube, etc... they all use just a small logo and then have a search function and a few other things.
    No reason to clutter up the top of your site with a bunch of useless and often times ugly images.

    There's lots of different kinds of headers so it would help to know what kind of headers you are looking for. But, at any rate, if you go for cheap headers, you're probably going to get cheap looking headers.

    Hi,

    I'm assuming you're talking about website headers, no matter WP, HTML or Single Sales Page.

    The best way to not use " junky headers " are by creating your own headers.

    Don't waste your time worrying about a header. Fill that precious space with something important like a headline and some subtext.

      FOLLOW THIS ADVICE!!!!!

      People get so caught up in "nice" and "professional" and all of that, but you know what...your website visitors not only don't care, but they probably don't even notice.


      And those who do notice you have a great looking header are just saying "hey, this is really professional.....it's probably a marketer".


      I've done it too. When I got rid of the Photoshop crap and started putting 2 lines of text in my headers, I noticed that people seemed to engage MORE in my sites.

      Keep it simple, don't believe (someone trying to sell you graphics) that you need the best..
