Taking Animation

Hi,

I have been looking at talking animation. Nothing complicated but like 2 people talking to each other. The lips need to move. I looked at Crazy Talk Pro Animation software. It looks simple to use. I am looking for simplicity. I would like to make simple scenes where a couple of objects or people are talking to each other.

What Do You thing about Crazy Talk Pro or do you have any other recommendations.

    I really like Crazy Talk. Depending on your wants and needs, the cheapest version will probably work.

    It's been a while since I bought it, but if I remember correctly, I got the upgraded version but felt that the cheaper version would have had all the features I use.

    I don't think you'll get any simpler (or better) than Crazy Talk for what you want to do. And if you search the web you'll find some good characters and backgrounds you can use with Crazy Talk.

    PS...One thing I don't like, is that Win 7 only has one text to speech voice. This isn't the fault of Crazy Talk, but it does limit the text to speech capabilities of it.

      I use Goanimate.com to create talking videos. Easy scenes to create and cheap.

        Go Animate is a great site. However, their usage license/TOS make it virtually impossible to use it for commercial purposes.

          How so? I have a Go Pro account that lets me create videos and sell them (or use them for clients). Are you talking about using videos in another way?

            Just make sure you keep paying their fees for the rest of your life:

    About Go Animate: I think this is how a smart business works, instead of charging a one time fee, they make recurring revenue. It might be considered greed, but $4.50 per month is not exactly a huge amount. I haven't really gone thru all the details, because the the other option has caught my attention.

    About Crazy Talk:     This software is crazy! I absolutely have to get it for one of my projects.

    This thread has probably saved me thousands of dollars. I was simply too lazy to do the research or ask questions. I was actually going to hire someone thru freelancer to animate for me and pay mega bucks. If I knew about the software I would have done everything myself or outsourced to my 9 year old daughter. She likes drawing and will be able to animate her art with Crazy Talk. It looks so easy. I realize now how someone can afford to offer animation gigs for $5 on Fiverr.

    you can create basic video for free with Goanimate.com without any restriction, to repost videos in commercial purposes as long there Goanimate.com slogan in the corner.

      Also take a look at Anime Studio - Anime Studio Animation Software - Official Website

      They have Anime Studio Debut which is basic, and Anime Studio Pro....just like CrazyTalk has the regular old CrazyTalk and CrazyTalk Animator, which is basically a full scale animation program.

      We are extremely sorry to hear that we have disappointed you. We pride ourselves on providing an outstanding customer service and would like to make it up to you. What can we do?

      I emailed back and said, "Change your Terms of Service to be more friendly to customers who are forking out $80/month or $600/year...and quit trying to trick them into subscribing to your service for LIFE with fine print hidden in your Terms of Service."

      Shockingly, I never got a response to that email.....:rolleyes:

        Go Animate can do anything they want...But, we can say what we want and I think their terms are BS. No similar program that I'm aware of does anything like what they do.

          Yep...that's exactly my take on the whole situation.

          Holding customers "ransom" like that with their TOS just isn't good business.

          I was LITERALLY sitting there at the order page with my credit card in front of me ready to make a $600 purchase of their yearly GoPremium account.

          So...that's two customers they lost and not at the "cheapo" $5 or $6/month price they charge for their GoPlus accounts.

          The terms actually make sense for when it comes to the lower-priced accounts, but not for the Business accounts, especially the GoPremium.

          That is even targeted at users who want to make videos for their business and other businesses, yet their terms almost make it impossible to use the service for that.

            I'm keeping my account. I pay (If I remember correctly) $59 a month, and create dozens of videos a month. My clients (who I build these for) pay me a minimum of $199 a month. So I guess I'll just pay it until the last client cancels their account with me. Hopefully when I'm 90 years old.

            I'll be honest with you guys, I tried Crazy Talk for a few projects. Although the program works well, some of the results were just a little freaky. If the photo has a guy with fat cheeks, or is not looking straight into the camera, it looks odd.

            I tested with an audience (I sell primarily from speaking) which they liked better, the almost-real photo manipulation...or the animated video with voice actors. They picked the animation hands down.

            I also noticed that Animated videos get clicked far more often than videos with a face in the thumbnail. It's about two to one in my testing. So it's a better sales point.

            Anyway, I'll still use GoAnimate...but I won't buy them any more Christmas presents.

              This isn't to totally BASH GoAnimate...they still have a great product and service, it's just important to know all the terms beforehand. I really wish they did a better job explaining the TOS, instead "nerds" like myself and Kurt(no offense...ha) have to go digging thru the TOS for them.

              Even with that...I'm actually still considering just saying "Screw it!" and snagging the GoPremium for a year at $600...

              I'm not going to use it for other businesses, but rather for product creation...in the form of DVD's.

    I know this is an old thread, but I find it interesting the GoAnimate FAQ section (http://goanimate.com/faq) seems to counter what is currently (at the time of this posting) the same ToS mentioned above:



    Would this not hold in a legal court in terms of what was promised in their "advertising" or is the ToS the overall deciding factor...

    If so, could a business not promise whatever they want on their main website and then completely negate those promises with hidden liabilities in the ToS that they display at the time of purchase (despite both being provided for viewing)?

    Thoughts?
