Hi All,

Someone did this with IM tips in general. Let's try it with only Website Flipping tips.

Leave a tip, Learn a Tip.

My very basic but probably the most important tip is: NEVER use free hosting!

Best,
Bill

    Tip:

It's very hard to get a site to PR3 or PR4. But it's very easy to get a page to PR1. Instead of trying to optimize your main page for PR3, optimize 20 of your other pages for PR1.

Make all the other links on those pages except one nofollow and link back to your home page using different anchor text links. This will effectively get you 20 PR1 links pointing to your home page, which will quickly get you to PR3 or 4.

    Wala, SEO magic.

Thats such an awesome idea. So you're saying make all the links pointing to sites other than yours nofollow (makes sense), and have one link on ea. of the PR1 pages pointing back to your main page as a "follow" link?

    Ok - here's my tip,

Setup an autoresponder series (or create a PDF) with tips that helps your buyers promote their sites - feel free to put affiliate links in there for products that will help them out.

I used to flip quite a few sites, not so much anymore.

    1. Sales copy... Even for a site that's making money the sales copy is critical.

    2. The market. I used to sell brand new turnkeys for a pretty decent chunk of money... They only cost me a domain name, some scripts with resell rights and 10 minutes to upload, and I'd usually get $xxx a site. (Mainly due to the sales copy.)

    3. Regarding tip #2. If you're selling turnkeys to "new" buyers, people that have never owned websites, they're buying it as an investment. Provide plenty of training and advice on how they can actually make money with their site. Write up a good report and use it over and over... This is win/win, because they actually see a return on their investment and will come to you for future purposes...

    4. Regarding the market... Sitepoint in my experience is great for established sites, or unique sites that are new. Ebay is good for turnkeys, and I've had some success with bigger sites there as well. Digital Point is free advertising, so it doesn't hurt to post there either.

    5. If you're dealing in sums of money over $1,000 use Escrow.com... It's the safest way to go.

    6. If you plan on flipping a lot of sites get a reseller hosting account or a VPS. If you don't want the headache of running a hosting company find a good affiliate. But there's A LOT of back end money to be made in hosting.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
    Here's another quick tip...

If you're looking to build a site for a particular niche, use a keyword rich domain name containing the exact phrase or long-tail keywords that you wish to rank well for.

Here are a couple of examples:

http://gainmusclefast.net -> ranks well for "gain muscle fast"

http://datarecoveryfreeware.net -> ranks well for "data recovery freeware"

This is a very effective way to get good rankings for your sites.

    All the best,
    Tony

I made a video on this over at : . It's quite some time ago but I think it's quite useful.

Basically, there are 2 places to look for dirt-cheap blogs, BlogCatalog and DigitalPoint.

    Website Flipping Backends

Sell your sites cheaper then anyone else in the marketplace
for example $10 and then force the buyer to buy your hosting
recommendation in order to buy your site at that price.

With hostgator you can get $100 per sale as an affiliate and
all the buyer has to do is sign up for a $7.95/month hosting
    which they'll need anyway.

To take this even further you can just buy a dedicated server
and sell cheap sites as a way to get people to buy hosting
from you which is one of the ultimate membership sites!

Don't be afraid to hold onto sites. If you can build up a significant monthly income you can sell your sites for much larger amounts than if you just created them to sell really quickly.

And of course have a few sites going at once if you have the time to keep them up.

    1) Number one for me, have a nice looking site design on the domain itself. too many grab content from a PLR and stick it on a site and try to sell.
take time, hire someone to do a nice quick mini design (like me) for 50.00 and the perceived value will increase. plus you can provide the buyer with a move in condition website.
    2) if you are serious flipper, get your own domain reseller account on enom or wildwest or whatever. you set your own prices and potentially get continual income from domain name renewals and services your customers buy. This cost about 100 a year. I bring in about 1700 with mine and do absolutely no work, plus get my own domains for under 7.00, and also get a commission on the ones I buy for myself.
    3) buy up some PLR articles or ebooks and do up a nice niche sales page. I have vloggingunleashed.com I purchased a PLR ebook and did a total redesign, set it up on my host ( i have a dedicated server) and made first sale in a week, my intent is to sell the site, but sales are always good too.
    4) Need ideas for domain names, read various parts of the newspaper or online news. Check technology, even things that are in production that won't be released for a year or 5 yrs. grab a nice domain and babysit it for awhile.
example: 8yrs ago before stock photo sites were all the rage, I bought a nice stock photo domain name for 6.00, kept it for 6years, then sold it for 6thousand. The market was ripe, and super popular. All I did was keep renewing it.
Opportunities are there, take the first step!

Here are a few tips I should mention:

    1. Never use any extension other than .com unless it's extremely exceptional (i.e., if you owned acne.info or something, you could make a decent profit).

    2. Don't set the auction for longer than three days (if you're doing a startup site).

    3. Don't set the minimum bid at or near the BIN.

    4. Always set a BIN and reserve.

    5. Stand out from the competition, don't blend in.

    6. Build a list.

    7. Provide every bit of detail in your auction about your site.

    8. TAKE ACTION.
