I don't think I'm allowed to post the link to it on a thread. I was mostly just giving hope to people that it IS possible.

Then you either don't know the definition of "many" or you don't know the definition of "untrue".

Many WSOs WILL make you money if you take action. There's nothing untrue about that at all.

Do you not understand the information overload that newbies are already suffering from, and the huge distraction of the bright shiny object syndrome?
Do you not understand that no one here is required to censor their opinions in order to shelter newbies from any syndromes you feel they may be suffering?

          Do you not understand:

The worst waste of time for a newbie is cruising through WSO sales pages looking for magic ways to make money fast/easy?

That everyone here was a newbie at one time?

That shiny object syndrome is a symptom of lack of self discipline?

That "newbie" is not a species - it's a beginning phase that learning cures.

Too many newbies here worry about "looking for hope" - this isn't some magical "journey" - it's work you do - things you learn and processes you apply. There's a misconception of IM and it exists especially in those who read a lot of sales pages. It says IM is always fun, little work, fast money and anyone can do it.

Once you recognize the misconception and stop spending time planning out a rosy future income scenario on paper - you can get down to the nitty gritty and build something worthwhile.

You leave the newbie stage when you stop asking "how much can I get" and start thinking about what you have to offer that others might want to buy.

That was my point, and that is exactly what my comments have been about. The OP was, essentially, directing to do just that. How did you not get that?

That everyone here was a newbie at one time?

Exactly. Which is why those with more experience should be giving good guidance to the newbies.

That shiny object syndrome is a symptom of lack of self discipline?

Yes, and no. People that are just starting out don't know what to believe, or where to begin. It is easy to get caught up in hype, especially when threads like this direct them toward them.

Absolutely. I agree with all of that. Though, a little hope and motivation once in a while do not hurt.

"WSO's are great" is a blanket statement that simply isn't true. A few can be great, some can be good, but a large portion of them are junk. A statement like the on you made could do more harm than good, to people that are new to IM.

Congrats on any real success you have had, but the screenshot is pointless. The numbers listed could have come from anything. It was also unnecessary. You could have simply stated that you made money.

Your post is too vague to give anyone "hope". In fact, it will probably add a lot of distraction for people that are already overwhelmed enough. Because of this post, they will end up browsing through the WSO forums looking for some magic bullet rather than doing something constructive.

If you found value in the WSO you bought, go write a review in the review forum about what you you found valuable about it....or even in this thread, at this point. That would be helpful.

You cannot post an affiliate link to it, but you should be able to post a regular link to the WSO. At the very least you could mention the name so that people could search for it on their own. Your cryptic approach makes me question your motives.

If this post was made in an attempt to get people to PM you and buy through your affiliate link, that is pretty slimy. If not, just be upfront and tell people what WSO it was and why you liked it.

Hey with all the negativity, I was just sharing that - someone as MYSELF being new to IM bought a WSO and put it into action and made a little money.

Plus the screen shot shows I made a little over $200 that's not life changing money...

Also, I don't send it as an affiliate link to people that ask for it because I am sharing my experience.

And I did post the name of the warrior that made it but the post was removed.

So, I don't know if you've been burned by people in the past but if that's the case I'm sorry.

You earned because you worked according to the WSO creator ( the WSO you thought ). There is not magic that after investing some money you will earn 100X without working.

Because it seems that the new way to get around the "No affiliate links" rule, is to give vague information and get people to PM you. I have been seeing a lot of that. The OP implies that all WSO's are good, and they are making money with the one they bought, but they do not link to it, or mention the name, or the person running it. The only way to find out is by PMing them. Yes, it makes me suspicious. And, can you honestly say that is not a possibility?

Yes that would be slimy but as I stated I believe that that is not his intention and there does not have to be a "if not", if he does not want to leave a link then that's his choice.

How is it that you know the OP's intent, but managed to completely misread mine? Maybe it is your Pro-WSO viewpoint getting defensive, but I am not anti-WSO. Yes, it is his/her choice whether to leave a link or not, but why mention it, and then be evasive about it? If they are trying to be helpful, why not provide helpful information rather than being so vague?

My problem is not even with that, though. It would have been fine to just say "Hey, I just made money, so you can too". My problem is with him/her telling beginners that all WSO's are great, and implying that they will all make you money. Do you not understand the information overload that newbies are already suffering from, and the huge distraction of the bright shiny object syndrome? You can't honestly tell me that all, or even most WSO's are "Great", especially for beginners. The last thing they need is to get lost over in the WSO forums looking for some magic bullet. I can understand a newbie not understanding that, but you have been around a while.

I realize that this isn't a popular opinion among those that make a living selling WSO's, since newbies are their best customers.

Don't get me wrong, there are some very good WSO's out there. WillR (above), for example, has some good offline and mobile stuff. But, if you can't make money without WSO's, then chances are you won't make money with them. And, with there being tons of WSO's on making money from creating WSO's, there is a ton of crap ones coming out constantly. Implying that all WSO's are great does a disservice to newbies.

This is the real reason for your harsh post, your looking for hope and your pissed that he doesn't leave a link, well to bad deal with it.

It seems you chose to take a single sentence and use it out of context. Why is that? It is clear that the content of my post was about how this type of thing is a distraction for beginners (I'm not a beginner). I find it frustrating that newbies come here for help, and instead they are given bad advice or distracted with BSO's (bright shiny objects). The information is irrelevant, to me. Removing all the vague talk of WSO's would be equally fine with me. There is an edit feature to change the title.

Why would I be looking at a thread like this for hope, or advice? I don't get the rationale behind that. I have been doing this since 2005, and my first affiliate check ever, in 2006, was for nearly $400. It seems a bit hypocritical, to me, that you fault me for questioning the OP's motives, then you make a completely baseless, nonsensical comment like that. Believe me, I already know that you can make money, I don't need hope. I understand that others do. My problem was that this seemed like more of a pro-WSO post, rather than a simple motivational one.

The simple truth is that all the information, that people need to make money in this business, is freely available throughout the forums. WSO's are, at most, bells and whistles, and at worst, a huge distraction and a money sink.

Yes, some WSO's compile this free information into a single source for easier consumption, but most do not. They are gimmicks and partial strategies for more established marketers. How is a newbie to know which ones are which without proper recommendations?

How did I make myself look bad? I know you said that got deleted, but why? The moderator does not allow spam or promotional linking, so either you tried to use an affiliate link, or you owned the WSO, and are posting from another account and the moderator picked up that it was from the same IP.

People post links (non-affiliate) to WSO's all the time, and posting the names of members would certainly not get your post deleted. Notice that I posted WillR's name, and it is still there. I find it totally unbelievable that you could not link to the WSO, post its name, or the name of the member running it. You don't even post what the product was like, why you liked it, or what you learned from it. The more you make make excuses, and deflections, the more I believe that my initial impression was right.

Yes, sifting through 1.8 million random posts would suck. Good thing that they have an "advanced search" feature, huh? You can find exactly the posts you want without having to sort through all the other crap. Plus they have different forums for specific types of marketing. Meanwhile, you do not recommend the specific WSO, that you feel works, so you essentially send people to "sift" through thousands of random WSO's. How is that saving people time? They aren't learning how to market, they just become lost in a sea of sales pitches. That's not what I recommend for a newbie.

But, you seem to think that I should censor my opinions. Funny how that works. It's too bad that there are so many agenda driven opinions here. Yes, tons of WSO sellers stand to make a lot of money off the newbies. How dare anyone try to look out for them.

Yeah, I know it is speculation. That is why I initially had the "IF" and "IF NOT" parts. I allowed for the possibility that I may have been wrong. My initial comments were more to point out how it looked, rather than an accusation. However, with all the deflections and lame excuses by the OP, with no attempt to even understand the BSO issue I was talking about, I am leaning towards the "IF" side more and more.

My initial "Congrats on making money" comment was actually sincere, by the way. I guess the rest of it overshadowed that, though.

I bought 2 WSOs this week and am very happy with both of them.

Nice to hear you used it and it worked for you. I buy WSO's all of the time. It is the only way I can keep up spending to match all of the shoes my wife buys. I just bought one today called Authority Site Annihilation that was pretty good. I do learn something from most of them I buy and I have implemented things over the years that continue to make me money now.

as long as you take actions, most wso can earn you some money. the problem with most newbies are that they are always chasing the "next big thing" and eventually they are just shopper on WF. They bought wso after wso to keep their hope alive. The time when they start making money is when they stop buying wso. (been there, i was one of "they")
