Anyone want to give me a quick review of my website Soccerdrillshq.com ?

I'd be happy to hear any pointers and tips anyone would like to throw out!

Thanks!

Is this a profibable niche? Your site looks ok, pretty basic. Is Google Adsense your only form of monetization? I didn't really see any high quality content. You can benefit from a redesign and putting more quality content on your blog.

couple of quick tips, your adchoices are in the wrong place and need to be further down the page as this is a Panda Penalty and your header is too big and the content is too far down the page as a result which is another Panda Penalty but with a few amendments the site looks ok

The google translate button looks weird, i attached a pic of how I see it.

I'm viewing at 1680x1050 and the header looks huge to me, it takes up more than 40% of the first page view. I think additional content to hook me, and encourage me to read more would be beneficial.

I like the explanations in the drills section with the pictures and video.

I happen to live in a smaller town, finding soccer products, soccer balls, shin guards, nets, etc. can be a problem. Having some affiliate product links placed I think would work also.

Hope this works out for you.

You have posted in the wrong section.

Website Design - this is the correct section.

The site is really clean but the Google Translator looks weird.

Thanks for the review everyone. Sorry for posting on the wrong section fella's.

Anyways, Yea I know the Google translator looks weird. It's a plugin, I'm probably going to have to move it I'm guessing.

I had no idea about the panda penalty! So I should move the Ads downward.

And for the header, change the size of the picture?

I like all of your site. But if the font size is small then it will be look more beautiful.

Pretty Good job for a first time. I would try a different background color. If you darken it up I think it would would make it anchored.

    Hey, viator
It's funny when you asked to review your site I first looked at it with critical "Web Design" eyes. And of course it's easy to find faults. It's all very subjective but most people above are right in their own way - the site doesn't look polished. But don't be disheartened you can take some of the suggestions above on board and make incremental improvements.

But this is not why I replied - I do football, ok, soccer drills with friends and so the content pulled me in. And once that happens I didn't notice the design or the ads, lol, ads-blind since 2002 boiii!)

I was too busy trying to assimilate the drills info because it's close to my heart. What I'm trying to say is that when you're interested in the content, the design, the ads, fade into background, to some extent. So unless the site is blatantly amateurish or monstrous enough to scare folks into pressing the Back button in the first 3 seconds you're ok and the content should keep them interested (if you keep adding more). And just keep making visual improvements slowly.

Of course, as people have mentioned there are might be "content too low below the fold" google issues that could prevent you from ranking well but, personally, I think you're ok there.

Just like some have already commented I would concentrate on adding more content. But that's probably because I want to see more drills, man!

    All the best

Thanks chretit, and yea thats pretty much what I'm doing. The longer I have the site the more I learn about tweaking and adding things to polish it up.

It's always great to here my content is pulling a fellow soccer player in!
I love the sport and enjoy helping the community, I will be sure to add more drills! My goal is to have over a 150 + drills .

If you are a real soccer player and truly want to help the community, I recommend making the site seem more authentic by including an introduction and picture of yourself. OR better yet, get a professional soccer player to endorse or "present" your site.

By looking more authentic, and less cookie cutter, you will find more opportunities for free publicity and more white hat links. I'd also recommend selling an e-book with all of your drills in an easy to view format, or an app for the iphone. Have it priced low so that people see you are genuine. You will get a lot of sales.

    Good luck young warrior.

      Thanks nateall,

I was actually thinking about adding one of those "about the author" type pulgins to the site. I will probably make an ebook later on when I have more drills. Thanks for the input! Always appreciated
