How to Structure my Landing Page?

I am trying to figure out the best way to structure my site to maximize the conversion rate. I currently have two main pages for my product – the home page which gives people an introduction to the product, and then a second page, where people can click the link to actually purchase the product.

I am wondering if maybe this is one page too many. Perhaps I should get rid of the initial 'introductory' page, and have my home page be the product sales page. You can see my site at: mindfulnessangermanagement.com.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I went to your website. As far as I can see people can buy your product from the home page which makes the second page kind of redundant.

The less clicks it would take for someone to purchase your product the better. If they have to click on the product name to find out what it is about and then click again to purchase it then you are going to lose some potential customers.

I would just make 1 sales page and put all the info in there.

I would also put the benefits next to the product shot. Nobody is going to buy it for the 60 day guarantee. Right now all the benefits are below the fold, meaning people have to scroll down to see what's in it for them. Your customers are going to be people with anger management issues so they will buy it because they want to become calmer, less reactionary,...

Also your headline is kind of long. When you visit the page you are greeted with a block of text. What benefit do you think people will enjoy the most?
Put that in the title and put a time frame next to it. Something like "Improve Your Relationships In 8 Weeks". It shows your potential customers what they can expect.

I hope this helps you out a bit. I'd love to hear what other people have to say about it.

Actually, this helps a LOT, thank you. I'm going to follow this advice, but let's see if other suggestions come in...

Thanks Pres solutions. This is an excellent suggestion, let me come up with some text and give it a try. I did make some changes to the page today, and took down the second sales page. I think it works better now...

I think that you should have both on the same page. What you can also do is to put at opt in box at the very top of your sales page where you can collect names and emails of people. That way, you can follow up with your subscribers.

The fortune is in the follow up.

If you have affiliates promoting for you, your list size will grow even faster and so will your income.

Can't you ask for their email when they are buying the product? That way you have a list of buyers AND you are selling a product.

Personally I think the sales page should do just that, selling. Don't you think an additional opt in form would create confusion? You would be asking two totally different things from the visitor in one page.

I would definitely look at creating a "squeeze page" where you develop a high value giveaway in return for getting a subscriber...the reason being is that you can expect 1-3% conversion on your sales page with the remaining 97-99% of visitors leaving forever.

With a squeeze page you can pull in 25%+ conversion rates and get them on your list. From there you can often improve on the overall conversion rate of your sales page by doubling the sales conversion AND you maintain a relationship with your list to which you can sell additional products (yours or affiliates) over the year(s)

What we do is send "cold" traffic from articles, videos, blogs, and some affiliate partners to the squeeze pages while "warm" traffic goes to our sales sites directly.

With a squeeze page you can easily program them to redirect to your sales page once the opt-in form has been submitted. So you get the opt-in and you get the benefit of having them forwarded to another page - this can be your sales page as mentioned or even an intermediate page that acknowledges the fact they are coming from your opt-in page and gives them an upsell to your full product. This can work better than sending them to the standard sales page.

Thanks again everyone for your help, t's very much appreciated. I have completely renovated my landing page based on your advice and I think it's a lot more effective. Time will tell if my conversion rates (currently close to zero) will improve.

No matter how many pages you have, have a strong call to action to guide your visitors. A big button with arrows are great and will never get old!
