Dedication Page on Kindle?

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm putting out a 50,000 word book. I am working on a dedication page and it is about 400 words long. Is that too long? Anyone have experience with this?

There is nothing wrong with a 400 word dedication at all. I've seen longer.

No problem - make it as long as it needs to be. The reader can skip over it if they're not interested. It's really for you and the people you want to mention anyway.

  I suggest you place it at the end rather than at the beginning. Kindle shoppers get the first 10% or so of your ebook as a sample, and the dedication is something that means a lot to you and almost nothing to a potential reader. Putting it in the beginning means that shoppers get less of the real meat of your book in their sample.

It depends on how long your book is. If the book is a couple hundred pages, the dedication page being at the beginning isn't going to matter. A 50,000 word book should be plenty long enough to allow for including a 400 word dedication. Potential buyers will still get enough content to help them decide whether they want to buy or not.

  Wow, with a 50,000 words ebook you can write long dedication pages, well over the 400 words! But if you think that in the 400 words you said all, it's ok.
