A Plugin that can notify people on the list.

Greetings Warriors!

Your input will be very much appreciated. A client's friend has a wordpress blog. Every time he makes a post, it emails the
people who have signed up on his site.

Do you know how I can do that too?
Is there a plug in to install?

I'm assuming I'd need to change the opt in also.

Thanks a lot!

Sincerely,
G.B

I have personally never heard of a plugin that does that but that does not mean it doesn't exist.

How about signing up for an email autoresponder service like Aweber and sending a broadcast to his subcribers.

Pretty much the way everyone does it.

It's called Feedburner. It replaces your "RSS Feed".

When someone signs up, they get emailed every time you make a new blog post.

    WP Plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedburner-plugin/

    The site itself: http://feedburner.google.com

      Thanks buddy.

Let me try this. Hopefully, I can figure this plugin out.

      You rock.

      Cheers,

I can't seem to figure out how this is going to work. Do I need to remove my aweber optin form?

wp autoresponder has too many bad reviews for me to give it a whirl. Sure sounded good initially. And, Post Notification is just too darn old since it has been updated. I'd be afraid to load it for fear of hacker holes.

I don't know what your business or niche is, but personally, I wouldn't do this.

I see a lot of blogs asking me to sign up for their "blog updates." That sounds about as exciting as watching wet paint dry, even if it's a subject I'm interested in. It sounds like an invitation for more spam.

Personally, I have a full-blown e-zine (e-mail newsletter). The e-zine contains a "Note from Michelle" which is always some sort of personal update and connection with my subscribers. It also includes a brief promo about one of our products or services as well as an "About Us" section.

The feature article is the meat of the entire e-zine, focused solely on a topic of interest and help to our audience. The first 2-3 paragraphs of the article are posted in the e-zine and then we give a link to read the entire article on our blog.

Yes, it's a bit more work, but it gives you 1) a personal connection (via the "Note from..." section) and 2) a chance to actually sell that just e-mailing a blog post doesn't give you.

Auto-receiving a blog post just seems like more spam to me.

Aweber has an option to email your subscribers anytime your blog is updated or once a week.
You have the additional benefit of linking your blog with your email list.

I actually used WP Autoresponder to send out emails when blog posts were updated. Used it on a deli website so it would notify customers of the daily specials. Worked pretty well, and since I set it up and they didn't have to learn any additional interfaces, the customer loved it.

Search for "Post Notification" in the Wordpress add new plugin option. It's from Moritz Strübe if Wordpress brings up a bunch of different options.

It worked last time I tried it.
