Monetizing a mildly successful blog?

I have a blog in the relationship niche that's currently ranked pretty well for a number of keywords (top 5 to top 10 including my main keyword) and I get about 180-220+ views a day, 120+ are unique. All my views are completely organic from Google search engine. I expect it to increase though since I've only recently achieved these rankings.

But unfortunately, I was stupid at the time when I started doing this and apparently the way to go would have been to have ranked a landing page. But you live and learn right?

So since I'm an idiot, I need a few ideas on how to monetize my already-ranked blog since I don't want to scrape it just yet.

Here's what I'm doing at the moment:
- I have a carousel that has images of featured posts. I will just make it show a single image only and have it re-direct to my landing page.
- I'm going to add in text links at the end of all my articles that will re-direct to my cloaked CB link.
- I currently also have affiliate ads on my home page. However, the conversions on these are crap, pretty much nobody clicks on them.
- I also plan to mess around with PPC a little bit and direct traffic to my landing page. I have no experience in this so I won't really be investing that much.

Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to monetize a blog other than Adsense? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • I'm not exactly sure of the content of your site, but if its in the relationship niche I would promote Match.com affiliate offers. They offer high payouts! Does that fit your site at all?

    • It's closely related, yes.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll look into this
  • Definitely, if you have that much traffic get dating sites signups on there. Very good money with it. Even one signup a day will impress you...

    • Do you know of any threads or a website that can explain how to do this properly?
  • Go to each of the dating sites (match, eharmony, etc.) and look for "affiliate program" in the websites footer. Click that and sign up for their affiliate program. Then just copy and paste the code onto your site!
  • Like others have mentioned, I'd recommend putting up some dating site offers. You can sign up through Commission Junction, they have a lot of those dating sites. The easy way to start out would just be to put up some banners. And you should definitely start building up an email list as well.

    • Also, to specify, my niche isn't strictly dating. It's also on how to get an ex boyfriend or girlfriend back, tips on keeping them, tips on improving relationships, and etc.

Edit: E-mailing I'm thinking of doing later down the road. I don't have the money yet to make proper use of one, and I don't have anything to offer to them quite yet.
  • I mean like, what method is this monetized through? For example, do people click on an ad or text link or something with my affiliate link in it the same was as CB?
  • You've said that you are making a featured post stuff with your blog. Here is what you can do to use this feature to monetize your blog. Open guest blogging opportunity in your blog and put up strict guidelines. So you would be receiving good content, which would improve your blogs worth. Now you can offer featured publishing of guest posts at a charge. Trust me, people are interested in paying and getting featured in guest blogs than getting banner advertisements.

    • How would I do this? I know of guest blogging, but I've actually never even though about opening up my own blog to do so.
  • Mind if you PM me yor URL to have a look. I will revert with some suggestions.

    • Since it is a blog, I bet you use Wordpress. In that case, there is a plugin just right for you, and free. It is called Wp Auto Affiliate Links. Affiliate Links can be atomatically added trough your content. You should give it a try.
