Can someone explain in the simplest form please

Hey peoples, I'm having a bit of a brain freeze lately, having not done much wp work over the past couple of months I have gone a bit rusty, can you explain this please.
I originally changed shared hosting to go to seo reseller hosting... but now I'm back to shared hosting, I won't bore you with my reasons.
Do you only get or need WHM access when you have dedicated ip's to arrange your packages/accounts? Or does this access vary with each hosting company and the set up you have? I used to have WHM access with shared hosting before I think, but I don't have it now, only cpanel.
This problem has arisen as I need SSL certs for each domain I need to run an app with FB. I found how to get a free cert, but I need WHM to finish process.
My hosting firm says I have to upgrade to reseller and dedicated ip's and pay extra on top for each domain I need a cert for.
Any explanations would be great thx.

    WHM access generally comes with reseller accounts, not with just multiple domain hosting.

    If you need an SSL certificate, you need a dedicated IP address for each domain. The domains would need to be split up into individual accounts in order to do this the correct way.

    I'd recommend moving back to a reseller account, perhaps just a smaller one though if you do not plan to add many accounts. Having individual accounts is also better for both performance & security reasons.

    WHM is only available with resellers & above.

    1 more thing.. is it possible to get SSL's already in with a hosting package or would I always have to pay extra for every certificate I need for each domain. I guess that hosting package would be expensive???

      It depends on the provider. Some charge 50+ for an ssl and some only charge for the IP address. There are providers out the offering GlobalSign SSL certs for free.
