How to Find Missing Image Alt tags?

INTERNET MARKETING

I get told in seo data sites that some of my images don't have Alt tags, but they don't tell me which ones.

I have lots of images, and 99.9% will have had alt tags added when uploaded.

If I have to manually check every image on every post, it'll take me days, whether I go through my Gallery or the Posts themselves.

Is there an easier way I can locate which images are the ones with no alt tags? Maybe there are only 3 out of about 700?

one of the best I know is h++p://gtmetrix (dot) com. Enjoy anything about page speed useful is google page speed directly from google.

Thanks lesterdean, that gtmetrix site is good, but still doesn't tell me which of my images have no alt tags.

And it gave me a whole new set of website problems to fix - I'm trying to tell myself this is a good thing.

  You need to input the url of each page, and then it is supposed to show the images and highlight any that have the missing alt attribute.

Or you could go to Odesk and ask someone to write a simple script to check all your pages and display them if missing the tag. PHP would do this well.

Then you will have the script you can keep and run any time you want

Miles! Brilliant! That alt checker is fantastic. I've been hoovering up images with no alt tags while also watching TV - it only requires copy/pasting and occasional editing, so no great brain input required.

They were mostly affiliate banner ads which I have now fixed.

My undying gratitude is winging it's way....
