Joomla experts, hep me out of this dumb mistake!

I recently spent quite a bit of time setting up a new installation of Joomla, customizing the settings exactly how I wanted them. I stupidly hit "force SSL >> for administrator only" without thinking ahead as to if was an actual option for me.

Now I can't get back to my admin page. Am I going to have to start the install over?

    Does that mean you can use https: instead of http: to access your admin page?

    Well, that was the idea, but the domain doesn't resolve using https: and it defaults there from http:

    So I need to change the setting back, but I can't login to do it... I think I am just plain SOL

      This is just a thought, I haven't worked with Joomla
      for about 3 years.

      Can't you go in through your cpanel>file manage> and make changes
      with the editor to get back to where you want to be.

      Or through your ftp client?

      Hopefully you have posted this question over at the Joomla.org forum
      also.

      Just a thought.

    That a great idea,

    Is there a file that has all the admin variables in it?

    Hi, go to the configuration.php on your server, and fine the following line:
    var $force_ssl = '1';

    and replace it with this:
    var $force_ssl = '0';
