PLR question for the PLR experts please!

Hi

I was wondering what you guys would do. Would you index your own written PLR articles on your site first before selling them as PLR or just sell them straight away? Your feedback would be appreciated!

I have all my PLR articles sold separately than indexing it on my site to get punished.

I would NOT index them first.

    Here's why -

When I personally go to buy PLR, I will take a sentence or two of it if available and pop it into the search engine to see how many times it shows up. If it looks like it covers more than a couple of pages I may consider moving it to the bottom of my buy list.

Why would you want to index it on your site? First of all, the articles are useless to you, because they'll be duplicate content (never use PLR articles as is on your site) and second of all, it's unethical. You're selling a service, and you should be true to your customers.

Not necessary unethical depends on the way he positions it because the nature of PLR is that they get widely distributed so being on the authors website is just one of those places but the author should not specify that they are unique if they are selling it to more than one person.

If I sell PLR that I've already used on my site, I make SURE I notify the buyers first when I first release it because many want to be FIRST.

If I create new PLR from scratch, as opposed to selling some of my content as PLR after the fact, then I always let my buyers have first crack at it.

Most of my buyers are the kind who springboard it anyway - or use it where it doesn't matter (reports, ebooks, emails, etc). So being first or 1 millionth doesn't matter to them.

If I want to have a copy later, I can have a copy - but then I'd rewrite my PLR or anyone else's before using it anyway - not because of some "penalty" some people argue exists, but because I like being unique, period.

It doesn't matter unless you're selling limited copies. And then you simply reserve a copy for yourself, and/or make it clear in your license that you'll be using them too. Anyone worrying about "duplicate content" likely doesn't fully understand the point of -- and widespread uses for -- PLR and thus aren't your target.
