Most Internet marketers are missing the boat. Are YOU??

When the internet was in it's infancy stages back around 1995, it was considered the great equalizer that will level the playing field between home/small business owners and big corporations. Well, fast forward to 2013, has it? Is the playing field level? How many internet marketers are experiencing the fruits of this level playing field? Are you??

Even with all of this wonderful information technology and inter-connectivity we have today, still MONEY and POWER rule the game. The little guy with few resources is still out in the cold. No level playing field.

So, the only way internet marketers and others entrepreneurs can level the playing field is to use this wonderful thing we call the internet to:

1) Collaborate in mass (there is power in numbers),

2) Form strategic business alliances;

3) Use the alliances to create new innovative business models;

4) Use the business models to create new products and services; and

5) Use the new products and services to compete in the marketplace.

The business alliances between all participating internet marketers can be easily structured to insure each participating internet marketers can benefit according to his/her professional contribution to the alliance. This way, you have power as a member of the alliance.

This is the BOAT many need to be in, not working all along; especially if you are struggling. Don Tapscott, author of Wikinomics, How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything, puts it this way: "the growing accessibility of information technologies puts the tools required to collaborate, create value, and compete at everybody's fingertips. This liberates people to participate in innovation and wealth creation within every sector of the economy. Millions of people already join forces in self-organized collaborations that produce dynamic new goods and services that rival those of the world's best-financed enterprises"

You have a forum in the warrior forum to facilitate these alliances --- the joint venture forum. However, so far, all you see is mostly ad swaps between two internet marketers. This only works if you already have a list. What if you do not?

It's time to think bigger than that. It's not complicated, all you have to do is think bigger and think different. For example, if you wanted to initiate the formation of such an alliance:

1) First, think of ways you can form a team with other internet marketers and create value that wouldn't be possible if you worked along. This value will be your business model;

2) Determine how each participating internet marketer can benefit;

3) Consider ways you can fund the alliance. Look at crowd funding. A team effort usually carries more weight, especially if your business model value targets a non-profit cause. Note: there are ways you can support a non-profit cause and still make a ton of money. In addition, you can start a fan page on Facebook where, if you and all of your team members invite your fiends to visit the page, the viral benefits of Facebook can drive a lot of traffic to your page;

4) Put together an e-book explaining the business model, how each participating internet marketer can benefit, funding and the overall business plan;

5) Post the e-book as a free e-book in the joint venture forum or other forums and solicit team members.

Of course, this is just a rough outline of how you can do it. Obviously, there are many options.

The Big Picture

Now, whether you want to do the leg work to initiate the formation of an alliance or not, what if, on any given day, you can log into the joint venture forum or other warrior forums and find hundreds of these kind of alliances posted where you can simply plug into a funded alliance that is already active and generating revenue. You will simply plug in as online staff member and contribute professionally to the alliance according to the value you can bring to the table.

Obviously, this big picture will take awhile to materialize, but this is how the playing field is leveled. It illustrates how grassroots entrepreneurs and internet marketers can collaborate and create lucrative, mutually beneficial solutions from ground up and compete head on with large companies and corporations.

There is no better time to start conceptualizing and forming these alliances than now.

    Here's another way to level the playing field.

    If you're a little guy and want to be play with the big guys don't get trapped into trying to compete with them.

    Think of them as Joint venture partners you haven't met yet (I'm coining a phrase here off a coach of mine)

    Find a way to leverage their expertise and influence by providing awesome value to them without asking anything in return.

    Once you start a dialogue with them you are halfway there.

    (I hope this makes sense - it's getting late in the UK...)

      This is great point. It works best if you have an inside connection. If you do not, it may be difficult to navigate corporate bureaucracies, even if you are offering free value added services/advice.

    Good post OP. The media has done a big disservice sensationalizing the lone wolf entrepreneurs doing everything themselves. When in fact, most major successes are team efforts built from networks/partnerships etc.... Look at nearly every major internet success. They've all taken VC money. It's not just about venture capital money as it is the the tremendous resources, network/connections VC's have to scale things up quickly.
