CommentLuv for Forums - Good idea?
CommentLuv is a really popular plugin for blogs, and it helps to encourage comments, reduce spam, build links, bla bla bla. It is really great. The really nice thing about it (IMHO) is that when I am commenting on blogs I don't need to worry about choosing which of my posts to build a link to. The plugin takes my most recent one automatically, so I'm building links to all my posts slowly and over time (which is what Google wants).
I was thinking, there should be a version of this plugin for use in forums. Rather than having a static signature, I could have the option to have it link to whatever my most recent post was on my blog. This way, rather than having 500 links to my home page, I'd have links to all my pages.
Granted, forums links are the most valuable or anything, but it would be nice. It would also be more effective at driving direct traffic. If I had a MMO site and was posting on WF like I normally do, I could have links to dozens of different pages on my site. The more pages, the more chances that people will find something they are interested in and click. Targeted traffic - WIN!
What do you think? Is this a good idea?
I'm no developer so I can't make it. If anyone is, and thinks it is a good idea, please feel free to make the plugin. All I ask in return is for a free account, lol. I have some ideas of how it could work without even requiring the forum to add any additional functionality, and so it would work on virtually all forums. PM me if you want to chat. I'm not looking for money here, I just think it would be a great option for many people.
