beginner starting a website

Hey im just starting a website. Do all I need is to purchase, web hosting, a website, and a domain name?

my other question is can I purchase a website and work on SEO (as far as keywords and such) and buy the hosting service later when its ready to go live? I really want to start SEO but im researching web hosting companies

Also is free web hosting good, if your just promoting a service? If the hosting gets cleared will your content on your web page be saved? and then just switch to shared hosting?

All you need to purchase is a domain and webhosting in order to start a website. Stay away from free hosting, they are unreliable and can hold your site hostage. Go with shared hosting, you can get it for less than 5 bucks per month on a good hosting provider.

I'd suggest you to take the time to build the site yourself; it will help you get the knowledge and experience which is going to vary valuable in the future.

I would suggest you do some more research before you start spending money on things you don't understand. When you understand how something works, and that you need it, then get out your wallet.

"purchase a website"...are you looking to purchase a website that is already active? or are you looking to build a brand new one? I can help you with a DIY option if you are looking to build a new site.

Like the others have stated, stay away from free webhosting. You will be limited, you won't have control over the ads that will show on the site and you won't be able to monetize it. Will your site be to sell products, a service, a local business, what is your goal? I can offer more relevant options if you can provide more detail.

Sorry I meant I want to build one. I hear wordpress is very compatible with SEO. My goal is a local business. What do you recommend?

WordPress is a great solution. Meant for blogging mostly, it is very easy to create web site with it. I do it all the time. There are plug-ins for SEO that work great. This would be a good solution.

    Hi gtat1111,

You need to purchase domain and webhosting. I recommend Godaddy for the domain and Hostgator for the webhosting.
You can buy a website or build a website by yourself which is better because you will learn everything needed to build a website.

    Regards

Now in my own opinion. Most things have been done for you when it has to do with SEO. What i suggest you do is get your domain name and host, install wordpress for whatever business you want to do and back up your site SEO with awesome plugins available on the internet.

Some plugin you might want to look into are SEOPressor, All-in-One-SEO Plugin. You could search for other premium plugins. But this one helps me get the job done.
