Optimize Press v2 membership system any good? Or should I use an other theme?

Hello everyone!

The last couple of months I've been really busy with product creation, so I missed all the buzz around Optimize Press 2 a little. I've read a lot of positive comments, but also a lot of negative ones. People complained about bugs and features that were not working. How is this right now?

Also, can someone tell me a little bit more about the membership feature? Is it just like S2member where you can link your Paypal email adres to it and people can easily purchase membership-time? If so, does it support affiliates to promote it?

About a year ago I've spent countless hours on creating a membership site with Optimize Press 1 and S2Member to get good payment + affiliate integration. If failed hard so I'm curious if Optimize Press 2 has made this more easy?

If not, does someone know a good theme that can create sales pages, squeeze pages etc. with good payment and affiliate integration?
Thanks a lot!

When OptimizePress 2 was launched back in July there were indeed many many bugs but a lot of these have been ironed out by James Dyson and his team. We're up to version 2.1.2 right now and still see regular update releases weekly or bi-weekly. I've built my entire blog platform on it and it's super easy to create squeeze and sales pages with so I would recommend it now it's a more mature product.

One of it's benefits is that it can be used as a full theme or as a plugin (allowing your own theme to run alongside).

I believe the OP2 inbuilt membership system is based on S2Member, I haven't used the OP2 membership module myself since I already had Wishlist Members available and was happy with that, but I'm happy with OptimizePress 2 overall.

      That sounds promising!

Anyone who uses the membership feature of Optimize Press 2?

I use the membership feature of Optimize Press and I really like it. I have used Kajabi as well and they are very good ... the only downfall with Kajabi is the monthly fee but Optimize Press membership platform has a longer learning curve... hope that helps

I'm new to OP2, and I guess that all other membership programs are also good, but the fact that many sites I visit and use have OP2 makes that choice a good one for me.

I agree with the 2nd poster - the OP2 folks have ironed out a lot of bugs and roll out updates regularly. There are STILL bugs. Case in point, I lost an entire sales page because I inserted some custom HTML that OP2 didn't like and it 'broke' the page. An autosave function would be amazing, James...

The membership component, in my opinion, is super convoluted. It looks a lot like S2member but man...it is NOT user friendly! It's given me a hard time, and I set up membership sites full time.

I guess the OP2 folks figured they should get in on some of the action in the membership plugin space but it's hard enough to do one thing well. I think they dropped the ball on this one big time.

I'd stick with DAP or MemberMouse.

So conclusion? The theme component is pretty good but the membership component not so much.
