Tried and true ways to make good money? I have a lot of time but not a lot of cash?

I am going on 19. Living with my girlfriend. I am unemployed and a high school drop out.

I need to save up some money within the next few months so that i can get an apartment and enroll in school. Nothing matters to me more then school at this point so i can put in 20 hours days if that's what it takes.

But does anyone have any tried and true programs? Guides? Anything? I'm lost on how i should go about getting started.

And is 3000 dollars in 2 months even possible? I have 2000 now and i need at least another 3 by early january.

And tips would be greatly appreciated.

If it were just that easy, everyone would be doing it. You've basically beat around the bush asking for a "magic bullet" method, which I can assure you, there is none.

My recommendation would be to go get your GED. I don't understand your situation and I do not know why you dropped out of high school, but I can tell you that if you don't have the composure to complete formal education, I find it unlikely you'll have the focus or basic skills necessary to be successful in any sort of venture (Internet marketing or otherwise).

Of course there are exceptions, but they are few and far between.

I'm sure this is not what you want to hear, but it's my honest advice.

If you can't give me actual recommendations then please don't post in my thread.

I obviously have a GED or i wouldn't be trying to enroll in college now would i? A GED will not make me the money i need to enroll in school.

I have the work ethic, i have the time, and i have the money to invest. I never mentioned any magic bullets.

"Your" thread. Lol mate you posted it on the internet. Its everyone's now

Although you state a lack of education, im sure you are'nt blind. If you read his reply, he does give you advice.

A tried and True way to make money, would be get the first job you can find, walmart, litterpicking, whatever crappy jobs there are in the country you live in, and save up enough money to get through school, and then return to internet marketing after.

The IM world wont work for you if your are a newbie, on a small budget, and also on a deadline. Now, im not saying go away, but im just saying that if you want that kind of money in 2 months just get a job.

That way, you can start working on internet marketing in your spare time using free methods (tonnes out there) that might start making you a small income when your in college, and you can use that income to buy bottles in the club.

Of course, this is what I would have suggested, to get a real world job, not just rely on internet resources for earning money. However, maybe there is a reason you can't work in the workforce, such as disability. If you can sell your services online at a micro task site, you might be able to earn some pocket money. It won't be much but you could try.

Unfortunately you can't dictate how people reply to your PUBLIC thread, you asked and people will have differing opinions.

      Let me be blunt.
From a standing start you have a very slim chance of making that money in three months.

I have 2000 dollars saved up. But that is money that i am saving to enroll in school. If i knew i could make a decent return i would have no problem investing the full 2000. But that is all the money i can currently spend.

well what are some ways i could get started now? I don't have to meet that goal in three months every penny helps.

I obviously came into this asking for too much.

So let us rephrase. If i got started in IM today, with 2000 dollars in my pocket, would i be able to break even and make a profit within the next three months? And if so how would i go about doing so?

I think I can provide you with some info and an inexpensive resource that can help you. The fastest way to make money online and get paid is by being a service provider since you're able to get paid via Paypal. The most common way to do this is to become a ghostwriter -- someone who does some research and writes content for other marketers.

This is a long-term business model that you can use whenever you need money. I recommend that you check out Ghostwriting Cash by Tiffany Lambert (formally Tiffany Dow, going through the big D, sales page still says Dow on it). Just go to ghostwritingcash.com. Once you get money coming in from this model, you'll be able to invest in other models that allow you to generate a residual income like blogging or having a PLR store.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Well that certainly cuts your options right down.
Look i'm not going to say it can't be done making that money online.
Unfortunately it takes time, networking, building a list etc. Starting from scratch with not even the basic knowledge it's going to be near impossible...

Hate to break it to you, but ghostwriting isn't something that someone can just decide to do. It's like anything else: there are prerequisite skills one must posses.

Well, I mostly agree with the comments above.

To me, I think that if you want to seriously make some money in the first 3 months of your IM business, you have got to get a mentor which doesn't come cheap in the first place.

So most people would prefer choosing the "beat around the bush" method using trial and error several months before getting all the techniques and strategies right.

Whatever you dont dont risk that money you already have on IM.

My best advice for you would be to create a gaming channel playing a game you love and commentating over them. Make sure to brand your channel and you will get subscribers. Then monetize with a youtube partnership.

Step 1: Get yourself back into highschool
Step 2: Get a night job while your in highschool
    Step 3: Save money
    Step 4-8: Repeat step 3

Earning $2000 in 2 months is possible with a minimum wage job.

Not for me. At my last minimum wage job i got 8 hours a week. I apply to three places daily. But my job search is made almost impossible due to the fact that i have some youthful indiscretions on my record.

I doubt i will find a job. I haven't been able to find one since i got out. And i make it a rule to do three a day everyday.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look into fiverr.

You have to be realistic. You are in a difficult situation. You should go back home, go back to high school, and in parallel, build your online business or offer your services, so that you may make money online.

        There is fierce competition everywhere.

If you will spend your money trying this or that without having enough knowledge you will simply burn your money, and everything will be even worse for you.

        1) 8 hours a week isnt a job its a hobby.
        2) I know all about 'youthful indiscretions'
        3) Your best bet for finding work is to look for small business's. Somewhere there is a contractor that needs a 'gofer'. Somewhere there is a restaurant that needs a bus boy. Somewhere there is a car dealership that needs a detail boy. If you have a record I can totally understand .. by bro was in a similar situation .. and I saw how hard it was for him. But you need to be pro-active. Go up to every business you can find, even if there not hiring, ask to see the owner / manager and find out if they need any help. Let them know your 'willing to do anything they need'. You will find someone who will give you a chance. As I said though the key is to stay away from corporate companies. Look for owner / operator business.

This is the best reply I have read here. It's not impossible to raise the money you need through IM........ THAT IS, if you already have the experience and the system. Right now you do not have any of those two. The reason why folks here want you to postpone venturing into online marketing and instead look for jobs is because they understand the difficulty of starting in this arena. It is easier to work 2 jobs than to risk your savings for something that may not pan out. Sounding like an old man here but that's the truth.

A lot of people will turn you away, man, but you'll find people like brutecky in your area and these are folks who understand your situation. Keep looking. Go for small local businesses.

          Best of luck,
          Rick

If you get a job, it's possible.

By making money online, it's perhaps possible (just about) but your chances of achieving it, from a standing start, are probably well under 1% and possibly under 0.1%.

People usually overestimate what they can do quickly. In my first two months, I eanred virtually nothing.

People also usually underestimate what they can do gradually, over the longer term. About a year and a half after starting my online business (with virtually no investment/capital) I had my first $10,000-profit month.

Unless you have existing, marketable skills, and know what you're doing, and have some experience, don't even think of trying to do that online. It's time you need to do a job, to save up that money, I think. (If you had twice as long, to achieve it, it might be a whole different story).

    Hi there,

People who have posted replies really are giving you very sound advice. We all have read very similar stories here. Most of us know how difficult it is to make money online. We know how hard it is for someone starting from zero to get started, in the right direction, and make money.

My situation was never like yours. But, I know from personal experience what it's like to have my back glued to the wall and really need to make money to live - like food, gas, rent money. Sometimes it worked out, and I have a lot of marketable skills, and sometimes it was butt ugly.

From very hard, personal experience - secure basic needs and get stabilized. You have no idea how nerve-wracking and tough it is to be worrying about basic necessities while trying to earn money online.

You said something about getting a job not being an option. Why? You need to do something where you have some kind of fighting chance to earn money.

Do not spend your money on anything related to online business. If you need a car, then buy a cheap and reliable car and get a job; if transportation is the issue.

I would say that getting into college is secondary, right now. Getting stable with a stable income is #1 priority.

How about enrolling in a course where you learn a trade? Welding? HVAC or electrical apprenticeship? You don't have to do it forever. But such skills can lead to good paying jobs. Then you can learn online marketing and/or take night classes in college.

You came here to ask people who have experience. You have, the replies are our sincerest advice.

    Ken

Whew! It doesn't take much to get you roused does it? You ask for advice and when they give it to you, you snap!

Just from your responses, I can tell you that Internet Marketing is not for you at this time. I am not going to mince words, just give it to you straight as to why:

    1. You are not educated enough - Although you may hear stories about people not having college degrees or any selling experience, the reality is that every successful marketer spends hours upon hours learning every aspect of their business - from website design to best SEO practices to lead generation to leveraging social media. And that's not including learning about the principles of business and marketing.

THEN you have to pick a niche, then you have to research what people are buying in that niche because the users determine what you will sell, not the other way around. You have to become THE EXPERT in your chosen niche because believe me, people can spot a phony copy/paster and so can Google. More learning.

Basically you will be a student for the rest of your life and if you don't like school, you won't like this business.

    2. You have personal issues you need to resolve - Part of your learning curve is learning about you, accepting responsibility for where you are in life and doing whatever you need to do to change that. You are the best and most powerful marketing tool you possess and people but YOU online, not what you sell. The fact that you got angry at the responses and tried to control a public internet thread shows that you need to get in tune with you. Marketing is about establishing relationships with people and helping them to meet their needs and solve their problems. At this point, you have succeeded more in offending people than engaging in conversation seeking help.

So if you wanted to get started right now...my advice would be to save your money, get a job, and get knowledge from reputable sites on affiliate marketing. I recommend Affilorama because they give you an excellent grasp on marketing for free with hundreds of lessons.

obviously have a GED or i wouldn't be trying to enroll in college now would i?
So - you dropped out of school - you got in trouble with the law....then you began to get your act together....right? You realized that being a tough guy kid wasn't getting you anywhere so you decided to make your life better....right?

You got your GED - that's a big point in your favor.

Now lose the attitude - your past is what YOU made it and it's what you have to work with now and overcome going forward. That means you swallow the swagger and you apply for jobs 8 hours a day - not 3 apps a day.

It means you ask employers for a chance - you eat some humble pie and admit to your own mistakes and be honest about wanting to do better.

Fiverr is not an answer for you - providing a service would be a way to go but only after you learn what the market wants, what you you can charge and how to get the business in the first place.

Look into govt programs or local programs that provide training for skilled labor jobs or for apprentice work where you can learn a skill that commands a decent salary.

You've gained the realization that education is important but it's also expensive and you may have to take a convoluted path to get back into school. Maybe put the dreams on hold while you learn a trade that can earn you enough money to go to school part time and get your degree.

The "don't tell me what I don't want to hear" isn't going to work for you so get over it. Accept WHERE you are - and that you put yourself in this position - then strategize to find a path to where you want to be.

The first step to take is the hardest and the most important:

Talk, dress, behave....like the person you hope to become. It's not easy to do that but it's what pulls you up so you can take advantage of an opportunity when you find one.

Start by making a schedule for yourself and stick to it - get up in the morning, have a personal routine for the day - if you aren't working spend 6-8 hours OUT looking for a job or for 2 jobs if they are part-time. Instead of setting goals for how much money you need by a certain time - set goals of what you have to accomplish today and this week.

When you do get a job - and if you push yourself you can do that - find out what you need to do to move up in that job or move to a better job....then do it. NO matter what kind of job you get - be the best worker you can be. Each job builds your resume and your creds to get a better job.

We all screw up at time - some do it when they are young while othersput it off till later, but it happens. It's not what you've done but how you get past it that determines where you end up.

      kay

You can definitely make that amount of money by January. The best way and quickest way is to provide a simple service like writing cheap articles.

Go open an account on Elance and start submitting proposals. Your proposals should address the needs of the project and be professional.

Because you are just starting out you will need some sort of writing sample so either take the time write 2 - 3 quality blog posts on a particular topic or pay someone to write 2 - 3 quality articles for you.

Once you have a few writing samples, starting bidding on basic article jobs. The pay will be low and it will be hard work, but if you are willing to do the work, you can definitely hustle up the cash before January.

Sir, I appreciate your transparency. Sure, you can certainly earn $3K in two months but it will boil down to your marketing expertise. In fact, if you're techniques are advanced you'll earn a good income at anything.

One thing you have to keep in mind (regardless of the opportunity you choose) is that you have to develop a resilient attitude AND you must be willing to learn new marketing strategies...constantly. Nothing good happens overnight and markets are always changing. You must change with it when neccessary.

Personally, I have used "tried and true" programs but I've seen my fair share of flops also. Stick with whatever program you find and refrain from doing what the massess do, which is abandon ship after not seeing income after a couple of weeks. Often times these are the types that refuse to promote their business anyway!

It will be a climb but focus on consistency, learning, and list building. You will prosper.

I would definitely try providing a service. If you're good at writing, you can try writing articles at the following websites:
      iwriter.com
mturk.com (You can get paid a decent amount of money per article. I received 5 dollars for two articles there)
      textbrokers.com
      thecontentauthority.com
      freelancer.com
      odesk.com
      guru.com
craigslist.com (look for people who need articles or other writing material done)
There are many more websites where you can provide your services. Writing, design, video editing, and more!

If you have any expertise in a particular niche, write an ebook and sell it. Create an hubpage and/or squidoo lens, and a website that features your product and promote it like crazy. Social Media, SEO, forums, blogs, articles, get the word out about your product. After that... create another product, keep going, don't stop and you will get to where you need to be.

If i got started in IM today, with 2000 dollars in my pocket, would i be able to break even and make a profit within the next three months?
Let me just check my Crystal ball...sorry Pal, Crystal ball says,"No."

As stated by someone above, it is (painfully) obvious that IM is not for you.

Would you walk on to a Pro football field and expect to start pulling down Pro salary with absolutely no experience?

Or maybe you can become an attorney because you know the way to the courthouse.

You can't instantly earn an income from the internet, simply because you have access.

Although I don't know what your skillset is at the moment, I bet you have some marketable skills and may not even realize it. Here's a few things that don't cost you any money. Once you've earned and saved up, then reinvest in other ventures.

    1. You could write articles and sell them. Do a search for "write for us" or "writers wanted", for example.
    2. Do micro jobs and freelance. Check out Fiverr and alternative sites, Amazon's Mechanical Turk, Elance, and there are others.
    3. Create pages (lenses) on Squidoo and HubPages. These are free sites and you can earn a pretty decent amount, and it often can be residual income. The period before each Christmas can be most lucrative. It takes a good while to earn a steady income though.
    4. Look at Craigslist for any cash-only jobs, as well as help wanted, for any work that you could do.

Some things, such as Squidoo, are usually 2 months behind, but the freelance/micro jobs pay within days of satisfactorily completing the work. I know it can be really tough, especially if you didn't graduate high school and have any other black marks on your record. Keep working at it! *If you have anyone that can vouch for you and write a letter of recommendation, it could go a long way toward getting a job.

P.S. Hold on to your money and use it for school. Use any additional earnings to reinvest, once you have found things that work for you.

  • Hi,

We have read most of the replies you have received and can totally agree that there is almost zero likelihood that you can learn how to start a new business on the Internet and be making any money within 3 months because it will take you that long just to learn the basics and that without traffic generation?

You have to get a mentor period. Not all mentors are expensive as someone said. The most expensive are usually geared for experienced marketers who want to take their business and earnings to a higher level.

You need to start from ground zero and should try a membership website we belong to where an English guy who lives in Beverly Hills USA has been voted the #1 IM service 2011, 2012 and 2013 on the IM Report Card website, so why go elsewhere?

What you need is someone to show you step by step the basics such as:

    1) how to decide upon a profitable niche.
    2) how to create a squeeze page website to build your own list.
    3) how to add a thank you page and a download page for the free gift on squeeze page to encourage sign ups.
    4) how to add follow up emails into your autoresponder to build a relationship with your prospects before selling to them.
    5) how to recommend a product to them related to the same niche.
    6) how to drive traffic to your squeeze page.
    7) where to find or how to create products to sell and upsell to your list.
    8) and tons more all which will take a minimum of 2 months to fully understand and do.

So if you are determined to start your own business in your spare time be aware that it will take a lot longer than 3 months to earn $3000 unless you are exceptionally hard working and a fast learner?

As already said, not what you wanted to hear but the truth is better than fiction.

Time is more precious than money. Just ask the rich old men. Anyway, start something part time and then scale it up late when you make some money.

Affiliate marketing should be your start. Scout around for the best ones to join. Build a list on a budget and follow up with people. There are a lot of things to do if you have the time but you can't expect instant results if you don't have the cash. Even if you have the cash, you still won't get instant results, that's the truth.

With your attitude, I'm thinking that you probably won't get far.

Apart from that, spent $20 buying your own site, upload 5-10 articles per day and monetize. Also, write, write, write at iWriter. It's a pittance, but it doesn't seem like you could do anything else.

$3,000 in two months is $375 a week.

    If you're willing to work 20 hours a day that's only $3.75
    an hour.

It seems to me you should just go get yourself a job or
    two.

That's a reliable way of reaching your goal.

    Kindest regards,
