Just curious - do affiliate marketers need some type of high risk merchant accounts?

    No. Why would you need a high risk merchant account for affiliate marketing? I may not be following the question correctly or may be misunderstanding what you're asking here...

    A crappy product or service by people that disappear from the forum for a long period of time to make it look like they were working on something so when they come back you will want to click on their crappy product or service link

    Not at all. If I'm understanding correctly, you're talking about becoming an affiliate for a company like Click Bank or Peerfly. A regular paypal account or bank account will do fine.
