Pay-Per-Call + Classified Ads

I've been thinking about paying for some post on classified ad sites (not Craigslist because it too much hassle) to promote a Pay-Per-Call offer. Has anyone else tried this? Is it a good idea?

Why not do a free testrun as there are many free classifieds out there.

Yes, that's the idea post ads to backpage for many different cities for a Pay-Per-Call campaign. It's in the financial services section, I'm going to use a well rated fiverr gig. My main question is: will I get any calls from something like this?

Classified ads will work, but make sure it's accepted from the advertiser, paypercall campaign works best in Service, example Handyman, Moving, Plumbing etc...

I post many ads a day to keep the calls flowing.

Yes I've heard of marketers putting pay-per-call numbers in news print/classified ads and having success. Still this is something you'd have to get out there and start testing to find out for sure if it works for whatever niche you're promoting.

My buddy has tried pay per call classified ads.

He was making about $100/day, until the network pulled him off the offer.

It was against their terms of service. He wasn't paid out.

So do not promote on classifieds unless it is allowed.

Doesn't seem to be against their terms they are pretty relaxed on what you can do. And I even mentioned it in my application so I'm assuming it won't be an issue. I put in the order and the ads are up so now nothing to do but wait and see what happens.

I asked my account rep, he said it's not against the terms if it's print classified (of course some offers say you can't so those you skip). The problem I'm having is finding cheap ads in papers most are charging redicoulus rates and I know their readership is down.

Update: Not much came of this idea although the ads went live many were quickly flagged because the listed phone number wasn't local. So I may try it again with a gmail auto-response and see how that goes.

If I was living in USA I would try Pay Per Call with local offline marketing - flyers, business cards, local newspapers. This is advantage for those of you who live there. Don't forget it!
