My Content On 2 Sites

I want to post the same article i wrote on 2 of my sites. both niches are related and i want it on both sites. What is the best options:

1) post it on both sites but im assuming this would count as duplicate content?
or
2) hyperlink one of the sites to the other sites article and get a backlink at the same time
- if 2) should anchor text target keyword: ex: "Read my barbeque 210f review" or is something like Click Here to Read my review of the barbeque 210freview okay?

Yes, The second option is best in your case. Duplicate content is not good for your websites. It can be harmful for your both websites.

Option 2 for sure. How the link looks is not as important as the ALT tag for that link. To get maximum effect, you want the alt tag to include your best matching keyword for the page you are linking TO.

      Hope that Helps!

        ?alt tag?

is this the same as anchor text? aka what the hyperlink says?

as in im better off with the hyperlink being just the keyword rather than like "click here to read my review on x"

The alt tag would be click here to read my review on X the little box that pops up when you are over the top of the link. yes I know no box popped up and that isn't a link, but you get the idea.

Why don't you just rewrite the article for the other site. You already know what points you want to make, so rewriting it shouldn't take that long.

Why don't you think instead of listening to people that don't know better. You own the rights to the content, and you can do what you want with it. If it will help the readers of both websites, publish it to both websites.

Duplicate content is not good for your websites.
This is absolutely true. But, the topic at hand is not "Duplicate Content". Duplicate Content is having the exact same content on Multiple Pages on a Single Domain.

Why don't you just rewrite the article for the other site.
Why do the work twice, when he owns the rights to the content in the first place? It makes no sense to reword it just because a different group of people are going to see it. If it's relevant, publish it on BOTH!

From a 'time' and 'value to readers' perspective, there'd be no need to rewrite the content. But, wouldn't there be some value to rewriting the content from an SEO perspective. If there is some value, then rewriting is an option.

But, when I say rewriting, I'm not talking about simply putting the same content in different words. What I meant was, rewriting the content so that it's more targeted to the other niche.

True, it's not duplicate content to have the same content appear on different sites... that's why syndicated content is not an issue. But, search engines would (I think) only rank one of the versions.

But, what if, one of the versions was reworked a little, and also worded to be more targeted to that specific niche?

Even though the same content may be applicable to both niches, it may be able to be tweaked a little to be even more targeted to the audience of that particular niche.

Rewriting to any variation isnt an option.

This was my concern with same content on different sites. However, i am unsure if this is true. I personally know 2 sites using the exact same content ranking both number 1 and 2 on first google page.

the copycat is actually ranking above for the copied content

They are your websites, your articles, you do what you want with them.

What are you scared of? Google?

Major news and entertainment sites across the web syndicate content all the time. The same stories and blog posts are published on multiple major sites and they rank just fine.

yes i am scared of google

these sites are designed solely for google seo....there also solely designed for these articles to rank them....

      so I figure either
Use site A to write an introductory article to article on site B and link it

      or just post it twice

also if media sites are doing that...what does google then consider duplicate content?

it seems like news sites can do it but you cant just copy paste others articles or else youll get a penalty...or atleast thats what ive heard...where is the grey area here

I would prefer to be safe and not have the same content on two sites.

I would use your method #2.

        Site1 -link to- Site2
        Site2 -link to- Site1

You can still have the content on both pages this way. When linking just give the first bit of the article then have a "continue reading" link.
