I just finish with my sales funnel. I never purchased any solo ads and I am trying to do alot of reasearch about solo ads, how they work, the positives and negatives, but I ran into this video and I want your opinion.

She sounds like she knows what she's talking about but then again who am I to know since I never purchased any solo ads myself.

Please watch this video and let me know your opinion about this before I decided if solo ads is the way to go to drive targeted traffic to my squeeze page:

    this is the conclusion/bottomline in my humble opinion.

      I said I am new to solo ads and i am trying to do research before I decided if this is the correct route to go to build my list but not any list, a list of buyers

      I just wanted your opinion on what this lady is talking about, because well the sales that I build is a product that sells for $69 dollars with a 75% comission and according to her, most of the solo ad vendors have only freebie seekers and if they do buy your product can not be over $27 dollars according to her

  • The main point of building a list is to build a relationship with your list. Not to make immediate sales. The sales come after your subscribers trust you.

      This is so egregiously false it borders on the absurd.

      Let me make a not-so-bold-but-seems-so-bold-because-of-the-total-crap-people-spew-without-knowing-what-they-are-really-talking-about statement:

      'You DO NOT need to build a relationship with your or anyone's list - and you can still make a TON of money with said lists'.

      The facts are this:

      1) Building a relationship with your list may make you money if you do it right.

      2) NOT building a relationship with your list may also make you money if you do it right.

      But Brendon, who the hell are you and how do you know?

      I know because I make money doing both.

      I have email lists where I don't know a single thing about the lists and those lists are producing affiliates sales, sales of my own products, and plenty more.

      On the contrary, I have lists that I do have relationships with that also produce 'income'.

      So no - the main point is not to build a relationship. It could be, if you want to go that route, but sales don't only come after the relationship is built. That's complete nonsense.

      As for the video, I stopped watching after one minute so I can't help you with that.

      But please don't leave with the impression that you must have some kind of relationship to make any kind of money with any kind of list.

  • In my opinion there is some validity in what she is saying. The initial objective of sending out a solo ad should be to build a list. The general idea is to A. offer free report/bonus than B. build credibility / relationship with your subscribers than C. promote to sell a product. Different niches and different lists with have a different percentage of buyers and price points will very as well.
  • Yeah.. she is right in the sense that you cannot expect to sell high-end items to a list that you build off of solo ads without building a relationship with that list, and offering great value. Solo ads are just like anything else in life, there is a great many people out there that are just curious about something, but only a few will walk up to the plate and go for the strike and take a risk etc. At the end of the day, what you make out of your list will depend solely on you, and the value that you offer.

    • Yes I get it now. I have a sales funnel that I provide 12 free videos 1 per day and then after 2 weeks it starts to promote the product.

      That way I am building a relationship with my new list and earning their trust instead of selling right away.

      Will see what happens. When I get home from work tonight I will watch more YT videos and try to learn more about solo ads, sales funnel etc...

      One guy on yt said don't worry about having the perfect sales copy, the perfect squeeze page and follow up messages, he said that many people get hold back on this little things because they want everything to be perfect and the end results is that they take no action.

      He said, your homework for today, go out there and buy a small solo ads and get your feet wet. He also said not to worry about the money and losing it, because this is an investment and there are risks involved. He said if you don't make any sales , move on to the next solo ad vendor, and then the next and so on, and along the way makes small changes and tweak your sales funnel to see if your conversions can get higher
  • You absolutely SHOULD try to make sales through your solo ad buying! Most providers will not allow you to link to a sales page, so you simply send the traffic to your opt-in page to get something free, then hit them with an OTO or special offer page to sell them something at a reduced price. The trick is to make that offer closely related to or complementary to the freebie you're giving them.

    You probably won't convert a high %, but anything that helps offset the cost of buying solo ads is a plus. If you break even, you have a repeatable system that doesn't cost you any money to continue. Keep plowing as much back into new solo ad purchases and put the buyers on a separate list (because they're worth their weight in gold).

    Hit the freebie takers with "warm up" and relationship stuff until they become buyers, unsubscribe, or stop opening emails (at which point you delete them from your list).

    Go back to the buyers with more stuff to buy and your higher ticket offers.

    Rinse, repeat, welcome to a six-figure income in a few months.
  • Solo ads work great. You just need to match your ad to to your market and you'll get subscribers or sales which ever you are going for. The trick is the source for your solo ad needs to send your ad to lists of your target market and not just to whoever's in a list.
  • Ok - I watched the video up until just after three minutes the second time and that's when I knew I didn't need to watch anymore.

    Where these people come up with such garbage is beyond me.

    She is essentially telling you not to purchase a solo ad if you have an offer of over $27, or something like that, because blah blah blah blah.

    smh.

    That ain't true either.

    You can sell $27 offers all day using solo ads.

    I am a member of a private affiliate program where the front end offer is $47.

    It sells.

    Yep.

    Even to solo traffic.

    You can sell $197 offers on the front end and - guess what - you'll make sales.

    All this boils down to is this:

    Try it all for yourself.

    The more you end up 'doing', the more you'll find that almost everything works by simply doing, and doing again.

  • People can be overly harsh on solo ads. I agree they're not the best traffic source in terms of quality, but when you consider the going rates they still makes sense with any decent funnel.

    Like with any other traffic source there will be some trash to filter out, so manage your expectations up front.
  • You have to look at why most people are willing to sell you their subscribers.

    Most commonly the answer is because they can't make any money out of them so they resort to selling them to others instead.

    Most solo ad vendors build their lists up through low quality and cheap traffic sources filled with freebie seekers which are shipped around from list to list, downloading freebie after freebie but never taking action or buying anything.
  • There are so many factors with regards to solo ads but if done right, its a great source of income and a great source for building a list.
    Finding good quality solo ad providers can be difficult but there are some great ones out there. People who tell you otherwise simply haven't found the good ones..

    Once you've found the good ones - and you'll find some using warrior BTW, you'll work out pretty quickly you can make money without building a relationship with your list - however, your best, most profitable and long term method will be to build that relationship. Building a relationship is a long term profitable plan..

    Now I'm not saying you wont or cant make money without building a relationship but looking long term, why cant you promote offers - and build a relationship - its actually more enjoyable. You meet and interact with real people and make money in the process.

    I'll give you a little tip with regards to finding the "quality" solo ad sellers. This started my journey into solo ads and building a list.. There's others like this on Warrior..

    • It's illogical to umbrella all "solo ads".

      There's solo ads that are sent to lists that are hammered (some don't even send to lists!) and solo ads that can be sent upon arrangement to someone elses (a non "solo ad seller"s) valuable, barely untapped list.

      Claiming "solo ads work" or "solo ads don't work" is a pointless argument. It's the equivalent of saying "a house is good to live in". It's completely subjective.

      It's not the "solo ad" as a whole that's in question. It's the quality of the audience receiving your email.
    • I agree with her, and for those unaware she is well known and makes alot of money in this industry. So this isn't a newbie or someone who doesn't know what they are talking about speaking.
