Private Label (PLR) eBooks - Can I turn into an audiobook and resell?

Hello everyone-

Forgive me if this question sounds ignorant....I understand that a person is allowed to take a PLR book that they purchased, put their own name on it as the author, and resell it, if they wish....but, could they also turn it into an audiobook and resell it?

thanks for any and all input!

  • Private Label Content comes in many different formats, including PLR reports, ebooks, articles, graphics, templates and even videos.
While licenses differ with each author and seller, the basic premise is that the license permits buyers to re-brand the content under their own name and brand (excluding copyright). In general practice this means that the product can be modified, sold, resold or repurposed in many different formats.

Taken from Wikipedia. Answerd your question?
  • Most times, you will receive a private label license from the author of the content, which states how you can repurpose the material. Most will state that you can publish the PLR content in written, audio and video format. Just be sure to read the license and understand what it offers before you make a purchase. This information will usually be stated on the sales page. And, if not, don't hesitate to email or private message the person selling the private label rights.
  • Not all PLR are the same. Some come with Restricted PLR rights,

As samual said, check with the PLR License, mostly in the form of text or pdf file in the zip file.

    • Why not ask the seller of the PLR, don't you think they would have the answer

  • Actually that may not be a correct assumption, since some PLR products (eBook source files) do not automatically come with resell rights. Sometimes a PLR product is only sold to you with the intent that you re-purpose it first, but not that the product you received is to be resold "as is". This is especially true regarding the source file. The license would usually specifically state whether that is the case or not.

    Speaking of which...

This would depend on the license included. This question can not be answered without seeing the license terms included in the specific product.

    • Depends on license individually but I'm sure most of the PLR products does comes with that kind of editing and product modification rights. In fact sellers are encouraged to turn plr products into different formats like audio and videos etc in order to stand out in market and make maximum profit.
  • why not when you convert an ebook into audio then the product is change.SO go ahead.
  • why not you have the rights to the ebook so I can do what I want with it

    • In theory that is absolutely correct. However, as others have stated it does depend on the specific set of rights the OP has acquired. Usually, with PLR products you would be allowed to do that, but there can be specific restrictions on the rights.

RE: OP: Having said that, turning it into a different format is an excellent way to utilize PLR, so hopefully that is something your rights allow you to do.

  • I don't think that this should be a problem at all. Just to keep things safe for you, I would email the owner and ask them this question.

Maybe every person who created these products have different rules on what you can and can't do.

Email them and see what they think.
  • Nice inputs shared by all. Thanks.
    Best wishes and regards.
  • Most of the time, there's no problem with that. Turning it into an audio book increases perceived value, so it's a good choice
