Amazon affiliate email marketing?

Hi all,

I have been looking for ways to increase my amazon affiliate earnings. I am currently in the first 2 weeks of setting up and I have earned a total of £12

I have used email marketing before with some of my other projects but never for promoting affiliate products.

My question is, has anyone had success with email marketing in conjunction with amazon affiliates?

Also is there any kind of tool I can use to automatically generate the top selling products with my affiliate links and put it into an email? Lets say 1 email per week to a list....

Thanks

I had someone on oDesk create a Wordpress plugin for me that takes the bestsellers xml with my affiliate link for any xml feed I wanted, and displayed it in a post.

I don't know that you can do that in an email, but you could direct the email to your post.

The only thing is that they update hourly, so it would change every hour.

I currently also have a plugin which generates the products for me, i'm just struggling with trying to put it into emails. Also I may have a very low conversion rate as my website is not in any particular niche so it targets a large range of products....

this means the chances of someone opening an email and seeing something they are interested in could be low?

I don't know...youre essentially taking the xml feed and through whatever process, are trying to insert that into an email...dunno if that is even possible. That's some high level nerding.

Depending on your email provider check to see if they have "RSS to email" and use the RSS of your posts to create auto-emails.

For some lessons regarding email-Marketing and Amazon, check out the Posts from LindyUK here in the Forum. There is a famous one from November/December 2013 that is worth putting into a book. Title similar to 'is it possible to make $1000 with Amazon?'.
These Posts changed my view on how I Setup my sites and treat my visitors / list.

    Hi

You can't put Amazon affiliate links directly in an email.

Use email to drive traffic to your affiliate site not directly yo Amazon.

    6. You will not engage in any promotional, marketing, or other advertising activities on behalf of us or our affiliates, or in connection with the Amazon Site or the Program, that are not expressly permitted under the Operating Agreement. For example, you will not engage in any promotional, marketing, or other advertising activities in any offline manner, including by using any of our or our affiliates’ trademarks or logos (including any Amazon Mark), any Content, or any Special Link in connection with an offline promotion or in any other offline manner (e.g., in any printed material, mailing, SMS, MMS, email or attachment to email, or other document, or any oral solicitation). Upon our request, you will provide us with written certification that you have complied with this Section 6. We will specify the form of, and content required in, that certification in our request. Any failure by you to provide the certification in accordance with our request will constitute a material breach of this Operating Agreement.

Noted, I've now created emails which take my latest blog posts and send them to my list. So I will be linking to certain products on my website but not directly to amazon
