We spent yesterday with an offline client, who recently outsourced the development of a website. He asked us to look at it because we will be running the whole of his site, and having exclusive rights to sell his product.

Friday we meet up with him, and the web designers.

The home page, about page looks very nice. Good job. They have put 3 live links to their different sites on the footer, but that can be sorted.

However, you go down a few levels, and there's this wonderful header. It matches the theme of the site, except

It has istockphoto spread right across the bottom.

It will be interesting to see what their comments are.

But the point is, if you outsource your web design check every single page and every link before you pass it onto your client.

Ouch! Looks like they were really lazy about the job. I also suggest checking to make sure there are no Getty Images stuff used in the design without permission. Getty's known to be rather aggressive in pursuing legal action against hapless webmasters who've been unlucky enough to hire a less-than-ethical web designer. I've heard horror stories of people being forced to pay off Getty Images for images that they didn't even know were licensed.
