My first Amazon affiliate site...

I've been meaning to create one of these for a whilst to see how successful I can make it. I've never made this type of site before and am just wondering if I'm gonig in the right direction.

I've chosen the the smart watch niche as its something that I'm at least mildly interested in and an up and coming market.

    Hey, great start. Site is attractive and clean. Some simple suggestions:
    * would recommend you open with an 'about smart watches' paragraph near the top - this is still an emerging market so a bit of info about the category may help your visitors
    * would highly suggest you include a sign-up to capture emails in exchange for a monthly newsletter or something. Then you start building a list at the same time.

    Nice, very clean and easy navigation. Great start for a first shot. Not sure if you completed your linking yet, but link more to amazon, and link your images to amazon as well. What widget are you using for the top 3 in your sidebar at the top? It looks good...

      Cheers guys. The top 3 box is part of the theme and I agree it's pretty good.

      I've been trying to link my images to amazon but it never seems to work, how does one usually do it because I must be missing something obvious?

        Just edit your post and click on the bottom left corner of the photo (little box) where you can change the title, alt tag, and link etc...

          That's what I've been doing but I always get a 404 error when I click on the link.

          On amazon I'm selecting 'link to this page' and the 'text only' html... is this correct?

    Finally a good affiliate site Some suggestions:
    Make images clickable and link to Amazon
    Your affilite links at the end of posts are not working and change these to look more attractive
    You could add WP Bounce plugin from here Plugins By Igor | Best WordPress Plugins for Amazon Affiliates to increase the CTR

    I see good conversion rate if you pick your keywords rightly and rank on the first page for a good number of them you should do fine.

    I wouldnt suggest you openly display your money site in a public forum like this especially when it's irrelevant to the community. Learn to closely guard your assets.
