Jing or Camtasia? Which one are you using?

Is there a preference or are both of them equally good to use when developing screen capture videos?

Thanks,

Jeff

I use Camtasia. Been using it since ver 3, now on ver 6. Love it, and not just for screencapture video. I create all my other vids in it.

    I use both.

Jing for quick little videos to show a colleague or client how to do something.

    Camtasia for everything else.

I love me some Jing. I have the Pro version, which is well worth the small amount they ask... think it's about $15. My only beef is the 5 minute limit, but you know what? Now that I think about it, I actually don't have a beef with it because, all things considered, it taught me how to be succinct in my videos and get to the, well... wait for it... the BEEF! LOL I crack myself up sometimes. I know, don't quit my day job.

Seriously, both are great, but time is limited and I decided awhile back to just freakin' PICK ONE ALREADY JOHN AND GET ON WITH IT! So I flipped a coin (I really did) and Jing came up heads. It's mighty fine for screen cap vids and still images.

The two videos in my sig below were made with Jing. You can do a lot more with it than those videos show, but it's easy to use and ideal for things like online tutorials.

I would have thought if you went 'pro', the 5-minute limit would be reversed and you could record for however long you wanted. That being said, what is so much better about the 'pro' version that can't be done in the free version?

I used Jing for the video in my signature... but think I'm going to have to pick up Camtasia for some extended tutorials I have planned.
