Learn What CB Product To Promote

I understand that many on this forum would simply ask what CB products should they be promoting. They assume you will do the work and tell them.

That is not my question. I want to learn the process. Can someone explain (or refer me to some literature) the process for analyzing what CB products are or will be hot? I understand gravity and the CB data, but how to you use this information?

I have found CB-Analytics.com but I am not sure exactly how to interpret the data.

Thanks for your willingness to help.
Mike

When I look for CB products, here are some points that I keep in mind...

    1. Do the owners give away free marketing materials (ebook covers, sample articles)

    2. Check out the sales page for holes..(I mean exit points that will make selling harder,
usually a landing page will include a sign-up form for a free ebook. This will make conversion harder for us affiliates because the traffic we send will just sign-up for free info instead of buying)

    3. Is it in demand?
this one is easy to check out..just place a free advertisements of the product and observe it for several days. If its getting hits, then people are interested in such product.

    4. I sell products with a higher Gravity..
Some warriors here mentioned in a previous thread that we should avoid products with very high gravity..I tend to do the opposite..

    5. As much as possible I try to create informative lenses on some of my favorite products..That way I'll be able to do some preselling.

Trends are important, so whats all the talk about. Also, products should have good tools for affiliates, and other things (already covered by oMar!)

Don't get hung up with the minutia of CB stats 'cause they are not and never will be a future reflection of your own marketing efforts.

First things first.... Identify a MARKET (not a product)
Spend time with your market -> research
Understand their wants, needs, emotional triggers and also... their dislikes.
Work to become perceived as an authority/expert in the market.
Draw your market into your web space.
Educate them often for the purpose of trust building.
Buy the products that you feel would benefit your market... actually buy them!
Provide a no hold's barred review inclusive of video detailing the buying process.
optional: Add a sweetener (bonus) for those who act upon your strong recommendation.

The point I'm making is that people seek out people for direction in regards to problem solving... this forum is fine example of that.

Whether a product on CB has high gravity or whatever means absolutely nothing compared to how and what you market to your market.

    Unless....

You intend to direct link to the sales page without a pre-sell attempt in which case you rely solely on the "power of the pull" of the sales copy which, can be very dangerous if the product you promote doesn't have mass market appeal and you have not properly qualified your target market via segmentation.

Again, it's about people, not products per se and most of all, it's about you!

Check out this piece of GOLD which goes deeper into the mechanics of what I'm s(pr)aying:

Wait a minute here! I'm a publisher on Clickbank, and Clickbank told me that all I had to do was list my ebook in their marketplace and thousands of skilled promoters like you would flock to my product and resell a kajillion copies and we'd all get filthy stinking rich! Right? ;-)

In all seriousness, it's interesting to see here what clickbank promoters are looking for in a product. I thought having a autoresponder follow up series would be an asset, but one person above sees that as "an escape" for a site visitor. I wouldn't have guessed this was a minus.

I do pretty well selling the book myself, so I haven't worked very hard trying to sign up clickbank affiliates. But it's great to see what affiliates really want in a product. Just another way this forum is useful.

p.s. My publisher title on CB is "worklawexp" if you want to check it out.

oMar, your opinion on having an autoresponder series on the salespage is interesting. I generally look for pages that do have an opt-in form. Most people won't buy on their first visit. If they get on the vendor's list, they can hopefully get the prospects back to the page to buy. However, you do have to be careful that you'll still get credit for any sales that occur. If you're going to promote the product, you should sign up for the list yourself to see what type of messages they send out.
