Are you a Talker or a Doer?

Every now and then, I have to use a cab. Honestly, I don't enjoy it that much. Why? Because, sometimes I just get tired of listening to those driving-encyclopedias called cab drivers. They know all there's to know about everything and anything. You don't ask, but they reply. There's this question at the tip of my tongue, I never ask. If you know so much, how come you're still driving a cab?

I expect that my local gym is going to provide me with a different kind of experience. That's usually a naive presumption. Again, don't know about you, but my gym is where the entrepreneur's conferences take place. You would be surprised how many guys freely share of some of the most brilliant business ides you've ever heard while you work out. And again, I don't ask, how do you plan to start building your business empire when you spend all day long in a gym?

This list of sweet talkers and unfulfilled dreamers I meet every single day goes on and on. Am I one of them? Keep telling my wife I'm a breath away from launching my own website and creating my own copywriting agency and finishing my first novel. Maybe, she doesn't want to ask me questions, I keep avoiding to ask all those talkers around me.

How about a change? Let's ask the unpleasant questions. We're going to hurt some talker's feelings, but at least we will help some doers to make the change they've been talking about for years. How do you define yourself? Are you an honest talker who admits he/she is still far away from a doer's phase, or a doer who still hasn't done the right thing?

  • I hate talkers. I love to see results by doing what I need to do.

    • Talkers all around us. For me personally, the most important thing I had to was to admit myself that I am/was a talker. I believe this is the first step you need to take in order to get to the doer's zone. I can't relax. Otherwise, I'm gonna end up as some talker talking his story over and over again. Thx. N

Personally I find "everyday people" (including Cab Drivers) interesting.

    Maybe that's just me.
    : )

    • My folks are everyday ordinary people. I dream about a day when I will become an "extraordinary" guy. Maybe, that's the catch. I've always admired true stars, who behaved so ordinary and with no Diva complex. To achieve fantastic things, and be able to keep your feet on the ground all the time. Well, that's something. Thx.
  • Everybody knows everything about anything but not every guy take ACTION. That's the main different between talkers and doers!

    • There are so many people that know all there's to know about sports, politics, economy, etc. These self-proclaimed "experts" are born for talk shows. I've heard it for so many times. I have an excellent idea. So many ideas you can't breathe. Yet, very few willing to materialize these ideas. I kept saying. Have a new idea for my first novel. Do you know what happened? The number of ideas for my novel: I need to make a list. The number of my novels: ZERO! I'm a talker pretending he is a doer.
  • Now everybody know hot to take ACTION, leave them by the side, make your own path to the top!

    • Right. This is one more of talker's distractions. I know the way. I know how to do it. OK, if this is the case, what are you waiting for? Thanks, but no thanks. I will also try to do it my way.
  • The thing I do the most is talk a lot.

    • The thing I do the most is write a lot, lol.

So, you leave me no choice than to introduce a new category:

      -talkers
      -doers
      -writers

Unfortunately, "writers" like me are nothing more than talkers who prefer to write rather than talk, lol. This is actually a good news. This makes them easy to be avoided, lol.

      Thx.
