Did you ever have that epiphany, when everything clicked and you realised you want to stray from the "norm" and make a living online?

Mine came when I was 16, at the beginning of summer. Being a teenager with no job,I couldn't stand the thought of a 9-5.

Here's what happened next:

1) I ran inside (I was out playing football) and began searching online on how to make money

2) I decided to try sell video games on Amazon

3) I bought digital codes in bulk of a website, and set them to my buyers on Amazon, making about £7 profit per sale. Even after the Amazon fees!

4) In three or four days I was overwhelmed with orders and had profited over £200 already, with over £600 in sales. I couldn't believe it...

5) Then it all game crashing down.

6) Being the newbie I was, I wasn't aware that you couldn't sell digital video game codes on Amazon as a private seller, nor did I read the rules first.

As a result, Amazon held my funds for up to 90 days, then blocked my account.

7) I tried and tried to contact them for weeks, months, but they kept referring me to an email which directed me to their seller center, which I couldn't get into because my account was locked.

8) Eventually I got through, and got the funds. In late October/November.

Oh and one other thing, I had taken a small loan from my father to buy the codes... So the money that was held up was his.

Stressful but an experience to say the least.

I was too high off my short term results to see my mistakes! It was my first learning curve. Always be cautious on the internet.

What about you? Did you have an epiphany? Did you take action?... Did it all come crashing down

That's fine my friend. It is good to learn from experience. Reading the terms and conditions before selling or buying digital goods online will help you avoid those things again.

My online epiphany came when I decided to start a career in affiliate marketing. Through this decision, I was able to know my affiliate partner who provided me with the right kind of tools (offerwall, 1 line of code for GPT site) to turn my blog into a profitable venture...

I can't help but admire your willingness to give it a go, even if it didn't work out the way you would have liked. And what a story you will carry with you.

Had my epiphany about 12 yrs ago. Wrote 2 quality ebooks, created an mp3 course. Set up 2 static sites and a blog. Wrote (too many) articles, built a focused list.

Was working full time, doing all the online work, doing VA work for others, and transcribing podcasts as well. Dabbled in affiliate marketing. After 6-1/2 yrs, never made more than barely over $1,000 a year from the websites. Most of that was from affiliates whose products I shared (created my own auto-responder series for each as well).

Way too much work for way too little. I came crashing down hard with burnout and shut it all down. Swore I'd never own another site, write another post or article, etc. But here I am, years later, thinking about starting over, wanting to learn affiliate marketing and SEO. Go figure.

Wishing you the best in your journey!

Thanks for sharing your story. You seemed to have a lot on your plate, I like it.

Hungry and determined. With the right tools, and if you learn the ins and outs, do your testing, I see success for you.

We are all gonna make it! Those of us with the right mindset

      Haha. All the best.

I was at my 9-5 job where I was writing a self-improvement/personal finance book when my friend told me that none of it helps if it's not published, so why not start a blog so people can get the ideas right now? I did that (months later), but still in my 9-5.

While marketing/building links/reading other blogs, I realized other people were making money off it. Just then, things started becoming terrible in the office, so I quit in order to start blogging full time.

I'm still in the early, no-income stages though, but I have had more than enough saved up to make it happen.

A risk taker! I respect it.

Holding yourself accountable is an important step in being successful in anything. It seems you have took that first step. Time to start making the dream a reality, eh?

      All the best.

  • Realized that once you dig inside, you'll find plenty of potential. I've risen from nowhere to raking it with some mental tweaks and actually found success.

My online epiphany was being marked as on of the Top Rated contractors in Upwork! I'm sure glad I didn't stop working and doing my best when I started during my College days. Now, it is easier and faster to get hired online. I am not afraid that I will ever lose income.

I applied for a job as a part time writer for a psychologist and I wrote some articles for him, unfortunately, it was difficult for me because I have no background in psychotherapy. Despite this fact, he offered me an alternative job and that
is to work as a customer relations for his company/business. I'm really thankful for this client.

    Yes.

The answer was channeling myself through the Cosmic Master hypnosis.

Some powerful programming in there. This has been the ultimate rendez-vous with success.

Ditto. I feel while listening that the sky is torn wide open and it's raining brains.

      What a tremendous boost.
