Learning Curve

When I was a teenager (about 19) I fell for some scam book that promised I could make silly amounts of money in no time at all... it was £20 advertised in a big national newspaper. Back then I was young enough to "fall for it" but what exactly was I falling for? I guess, my own greed got the better of me.

All that book was, was a thin paperback book telling me to start my own mail order business. Thats like saying "I know a car that is really fast, order now to see" like it is some car that has never been made public, but I just send you a picture of a Bugatti Veyron, which of course you have already seen, but the advert never said that part.

Now about 15 years later I know a lot more, even though I have never really done internet marketing in that time, I just grew up I suppose, knowing there is no such thing as a quick fix, unless you're the first person doing it that is

    Something very similar happened to me (I guess many of us have had this experience) it was with a lottery business.

    I paid money to receive a kit with information that basically told me to join this lottery business and market it the same way. (asking people to send me money to send them the business opportunity)

    With promises to win the lottery using their very exclusive system I went all in.

    Greed, and desperation, can cause you to do some foolish things.

    I sometimes wonder if I had the opportunity to teach myself back then the things that I know now if the younger me would still make the same mistakes.

    It is easy to say "of course not!" but I think that those experiences brought me to the place I needed to be so that I could become the person that I am today.

    Honestly, I probably would have still bought it because I was not ready yet for the knowledge that I have today.

    Openness to change is the first step towards change.

    In internet marketing with the changes in technology and search engines it requires us to be life-long students.

    I am grateful for the Warrior Forum since it is a classroom for me. Before I would blindly purchase the latest product or try my hardest in the dark with a new website. If we are humble enough to ask questions and acknowledge our ignorance we are in a position to learn.

    Hard work is always here to stay (swinging an axe to cut down a tree). Working smarter, however, helps immensely and saves time and energy (swinging the axes at 45 degree angles rather than at 90 degrees!!!).

    Exactly. We all make mistakes, we're human. Once we learn that mistake we can build upon it so we don't do it again.

    There is no such thing as a quick fix, unless you count the lottery.

    Internet Marketing isn't easy, but as you learn it gets much easier, no doubt about it. So keep at it.
