Life Coach needs some help with IM

I have a life long dedication to personal growth and development, as well as my own spirituality. I have a passion for it.

I know I have the ability to support people and provide guidance in getting them to move towards the life they want.

I am confident in those abilities, but my marketing and web copy skills suck.

I can spend hours and hours and hours in the this IM stuff and not learn much. I can't seem to sale for the life of me. It doesn't help that in my business I have an attitude of "not convincing anyone of anything, either they want and are ready for what I offer or not"

I had an analysis done of my website and it was poor. My web content has hardly any keywords in it and its just not intriguing at all.

Then I have been trying to come up with an opt-in offer that is aligned with my business and my beliefs, and I have not gotten anywhere with it.

I am a firm believer of asking for help when we need to. I know my skills and I know my weaknesses. I want to be a successful coach, I don't need to be number 1 or making thousands a week. I just want to have a dozen or so clients a week and know that my website is serving its purpose of being available to those who may be ready for my services.

Any suggestions welcome, Please!

    I would love to see the website and critique it, but since you say your articles etc. dont have many keywords and are not that interesting you could definatly outsource article writing and on page SEO.

    Best thing to do for traffic is PPC and social advertising. There are many services that can provide views to your website for you.

      I am actually not even to the point of writing articles yet. What is lacking keywords is my website content. Main page, what to expect, etc.. I just don't know how to get my services across in a powerful way while also making sure it has enough keywords for SEO. Is there a service for that?

      I'm almost hesitant to give my website link, since it still needs so much work. But I hope its for the best. www.straightforwardlifecoach.com

    One thing that you can do for your Opt-in is to offer a short ebook that you write which should take you about 15 min through open office and then convert it to a PDF for free. The ebook title can be something like "10 ways to boost your self esteem" and just write 10 things you can do to boost your self esteem. This is just to get email captures and then after you get the emails then you can promote your products.

      I was considering this. Is there a way I could make the PDF so it can't be edited and if people give it to their friends and family it will always contain my link?

        Hi Lovegrowth,

        From reviewing your website (homepage) It appears that you have not decided on who your ideal client is, what niche you are targeting, or identified the problem that you are solving for your clients. The fact is that nobody out there is looking for a "coach". The vast majority of people don't even know what a life coach does, other than those of us who are in the coaching world.

        What people are looking for and doing searches for, are solutions to their problems. The first step is to decide who it is that you serve, what problem you solve for them, and then with that clearly in mind you can create a program and an offer. Once you understand who it is that you serve and what problem it is that you solve, keywords will occur naturally to you and you can redesign your website from a site that advertises "coaching" generally to a client centered site that is focused on attracting those who are looking for the specific solution that you are offering.

        As far as creating pdf files that will contain your link and cannot be altered, pretty much all pdf creation programs can do that. You simply find a pdf creating program that you like; convert your ebook from a .doc or other type of file to pdf format; then go into the security settings and select whatever restriction you want. There is usually a wide selection of settings to choose from such as no printing, no copying, password protected, expire after a certain number of days, and so on. Just do a search to locate a pdf converson program you like, then set the security of the pdf file after the creation process and voila...! mission accomplished...

    Hi Tiffany,

    I began life coaching in 2001, and eventually became a marketing/business coach since that was my background and I really enjoy helping people grow their businesses.

    The main thing to remember is that people do not buy coaching! They buy solutions to their problems. They want better relationships, more time with their family, a job they enjoy, to be healthier, etc.

    Right now, your site doesn't convey any of this.

    I have a web site tool kit that I use with my clients which helps them structure their website so that it attracts clients.

    LoveGrowth, you have been given some excellent advice.
    Listen to them, and follow through.

    It is best to have a small amount of solutions that is well developed and grow from there, as opposed to a lot of content poorly planned.

    You are in good hands it appears.
