Do you have someone who guides you and coaches you? Who gives you advice when you're in a situation? Who is that person?

Yes, I've had one for other things and I know from seminars, that the top people in their fields have had one or more mentors/coaches in their lives.

If you cannot afford their direct coaching, get their free advice daily,
I recommend the free emails at Home of Abraham-Hicks Law of Attraction -- It All Started Here! and Kathy Hadley Life Coach

They both also have fan pages on facebook, but they give more information in the daily emails.

I have never had the good fortune to have a mentor or coach, until recently. It's not a one to one thing but rather a trainer in our organization. The way he became my mentor is because I was willing to do what he suggested and followed through. Once he noticed that I, along with some others was serious about learning and doing he became serious about coaching myself and the other like minded individuals.

He holds us accountable but in the process willingly gives freely of his expertise and experience. So we all benefit. He gets a more stable base in the organization for the long run. We, in turn, gain knowledge and develop skills that will serve us for years to come.

It's a real common mind set thing to think that you can't afford this software program or mentor.

It is much more effective to look at it as an investment and on that basis what is the 'Return on Investment.'

I have bought a course that cost $1000. I could have thought I don't want to spend mt hard earned money on that. That course has made me $10,000 in the last year alone.

  • For me and everyone else,

I guess in my humble of opinions, the first mentor should get is more on psychological and mindset building. Because what I thought is , without our brain that goes to "paradigm shift" , a person won't be success. As I've been learn on entrepreneurship stuff , mindset is the most important thing that determine your success, so get a mentor who is in this field.

Secondly, that is a specially on some field and go for it and do what you want on the venture of starting an entrepreneurship journey. Advices is always a lot and for sure anybody will facing up and down too. So, don't worry , get a coach to coach you , just be STRONG.

I don't have a coach or mentor at the moment, but I'm surly open to it if I ever need someone to help me through a rut in my IM life. Right now I seem to be doing quite fine where I'm at.

I find an accountability partner has a lot of the same benefits of keeping me motivated and making me want to go the extra mile, but is a lot more economical

What would qualify as a reasonable price on mentor-ship and coaching? I recently lost $500 because of this. I'm a total newbie when it comes to this, and though in my currency this amounted to 2/3 of my salary, I parted with it, but in the end found it to be utterly useless, as the "mentoring" was in the form of a consultant in a call center and audio webinar archive.

So you need to have a 1 on 1 relationship. if those who have been tasting success would offer up some of their time to help new people in the business, then you would see an industry boom like never b4.

It is so sad to see people forget where they them selves were and are not willing to help those who are struggling.

But again, what would be a fair price?

I had one when I started and I found it so valuable and life changing that it led to all my coaching sites.

You can do it on your own, but you're taking the long road. I'm not just saying that because I own several coaching sites, but because it's a fact.

We're human, we learn from reading, we learn from teachers and we stay on track when a coach can help us along the way. Every sports team in the world has a coach. Look at the NBA, guys with talent beyond talent still need a coach. Look at football, baseball, hockey, any sport. Coaches exist to help even the top athletes in the world become BETTER. Why would it be any different for IM or anything else you try?

I always have people and unseen friends like that all the time. For me having a whole team of counselors is excellent. As far as a "coach" a lot of times people are just looking for someone to motivate them and they want a kind of boot camp. I am talking about something much more wonderful.

Most people have a mentor but in my case, I never had one. I mentored myself out from scratch. Read and researched vigorously. Did some trial and error. After all, my greatest mentor is myself.
