Beating Boredom Hands Down

Are you blasé about your work, your relationship, or your life in general? Boredom is a complex process. There are lots of reasons that one may be bored. The most common one is that you've no idea what to do.

However additional reasons may be you feel lazy or tired and just don't wish to do the things that are available for you to do. Perhaps you have thoughts that you don't feel you are able to do the things you wish to do. This likewise contributes to feeling bored. Boredom gets to be a great concern once it results in procrastination, indecision and feeling listless and tired out.

Are you executing something that you have executed a lot of times before? Attempt adding something fresh or executing it a different way. If that simply does not cut it, quit executing the same thing over and over again.

Of course, if repetitious tasks are a part of your line of work, then you might, unluckily, have no choice but to stick with it.

Are you feeling work-shy, tired, or unmotivated? A nap may restore you and it may be surprising how much more motivated you are able to feel after a quick catnap. As an alternative, breathing in the fresh air outside for simply ten minutes may freshen up your mentality and the space and (maybe) sunshine may do wonders for your mood.

Are you rested yet still feeling lazy? Try to convince yourself to do just one little thing: something little or short in duration or just part of an undertaking. Taking baby steps toward a goal may give you a sense of achievement that will crush any boredom.

Explore the world and your brain. Once boredom has been overcome you, your brain will find a lot of ways to keep your brain occupied. A freed brain may develop fresh skills and hobbies. Absolved from boredom, your own pattern sensing mechanisms will discover joy in the beauty of the world about you.

    Just freakin' DO IT!

'cause if you don't, nobody else will do it for you.

Attraction = Attract + Action, as I've written elsewhere.

I sometimes hit lows in motivation - when I meditate, I've learned to smile when I'm meditating on the theme of "Peace", anchoring the smile to the state of peace.

When my motivation is low, a smile brings me peace. It's a great tip as the smile will also calm anger, frustration etc.

Confronting boredom is about taking some small steps. Let's say that I don't want to do a specific thing because I'm lazy, tired, bored etc. I start doing it, I get involved in it, I start enjoying it and evrika, now I'm doing something

Totally agree about taking the small steps to implement. Guess what? Just about every huge success requires diligent attention to those small steps. Think an Olympic athlete just "becomes" one? Nope. It's showing up every darn day whether they feel like it or not. It's a bazillion hours of training you and I will never see, just for that one moment.

If you're bored, you are expecting the motivation to come from outside of you. Error! Won't happen. Only YOU can motivate you.

Mark Helprin is one of my favorite writers. In one of his books a pencil-pushing officer gradually and without deliberation mounts a large offensive during WWI. How does he do this? By issuing orders to commit more and more units to the attack--until suddenly an entire offensive is under way.

If you're expecting push-button success, and that's why you're bored--because success takes repeated small actions that ARE often drudgery--go back to finding a job now.

If you're ready to work but are overwhelmed with all the big ideas and things that need to be done, break it all down into little steps. Work on something now. Something else later. Keep working at it. Marketing plan. Website. Promotional materials. Clickbank account. Affiliate agreement. Sales training. Direct mail copy and offer. Product creation. Whatever it is.

Your point of view will change as you go. POV Day Twenty-One is not going to be POV Day Seven, which is not going to be POV Day One. Once you start seeing the pieces of the puzzle actually falling into place, even if you need a dozen and you've made three so far, you'll start feeling confident. Just like that officer who accidentally mounted a large offensive through a series of small steps, you can get there.

I have found that I begin to get lazy after I make one reason(excuse) why I shouldn't do something I know I need to do. Its as if a chain of rationalizations begin to happen. It becomes a freight train and once it starts rolling its hard to stop. I have to make sure that I never let it start.

I think, the degree of boredom effecting your life is important. Boredom is natural but occasionally, if everyday is boring then it indicates something very wrong with your life perspective.
