I believed ALL of us are created for a reason, for a purpose. It's our job to find it! Some are gifted in basketball, some in soccer.. Some are born-talented in singing, dancing while some in teaching, guiding, mentoring.. It's our job to find what's in it for us.. God created ALL of us differently BUT all of us are created with a purpose..

Yes, it's really not so much about the money.. It's about your gift, your calling, your purpose.. Unfortunately, todayy.. I find many of us working in a 9 - 5 job (some are happy but trust me - MOST AREN'T happy with it).. What I'm trying to say here is.. HOW are we able to find our purpose in life if we spend 30 - 40 percent of the time working another 30 - 40% of the time slping??

Life isn't about working in a 9 - 5 job.. yes you need money, but there's certainly more than 1 way to make money..

I'm just saying.. For I'm Sick and tired of seeing people complaining about their jobs, and also what really annoyed me the most is seeing people working for money that depreciate in value.. (working for currency, not money!)

Working in a job is good 50 years ago.. But that doesn't mean it's good today.. Open your eyes and take a good look at the world right now.. The dollar is falling, inflation is rising.. the "good old time" is gone and never be back.. Welcome to the NEW economy, those who cling onto the old mindset will be left behind .. including those who depend on their government and country to save them!

Share your thoughts..

  • I saw this video is another thread here in the forum and I must say that it is great stuff by Art.
  • Are you saying that I should quit my 9-5 job now? I have thought about doing that, but it does not seem like the best idea/strategy at this time. I would love to be convinced otherwise. Lolol.
  • It is all a question of choice. If you love a 9-5 job that's fine. By the way you can also have working hours if you are in internet marketing.

    • I totally agree that it's all a question of choice. It really depends on the person on how he/she live his life.
  • While this is a conversation that could spread out over weeks, I think its a good think to bring up, especially for internet marketers. Working at home is very sought after and I am constantly told how amazing it would be to work at home and how much they hate getting up everyday and going to a job. Well, to be honest, internet marketing is a job like any other and it gets boring, stressful and monotonous sometimes.
I constantly tell people that the world is changing and how you make money is changing. With a bit of persistence and a lot of resilience, you can make money any way that you see fit. I see a lot of young people (myself included) turning to the internet to make money because the powers at be have pretty much made it impossible to make any money the old fashioned way. Now this isn't always true (my husband runs a successful paving company) but generally it is true. So get out there and seize the day because no one but you is responsible for your own success!

    Kayla

  • I agree with Kayla...it can be boring and monotonous...but guess what? You're the BOSS! Move on to the next project, go walk your dog, run an errand....

Sometimes I do take it for granted but quickly appreciate what line of "work" I am in when I speak with some of my buddies or go to a family gathering and explain to people what I do.

    • Totally agreed with Kayla too.. Young minds think alike Working hard to build our wealth and business sure beats working in a job..

Yes I believe all of us would prefer to work and make ourselves rich rather than working in a job and make someone else rich
  • The life and responsibility of a self-employed entrepreneur is not for everybody, so I would recommend that before anybody quits their day job, they have a very firm business plan in place, backed up with a very high degree of commitment to it. ...Not just enthusiasm and hopeful expectation, but a serious plan and the realistic understanding that it is going to take long hours and hard, hard work to get your business up and running and to a profitable stage.

    • Amen, that's right.. You'll certainly find a sense of joy when your have developed your own successful product or have provided an excellent service to others..

Life is either a daring adventure or NOTHING seize the day!!

Yes working in a job is good if you plan to learn instead of just planning to earn..

That's true, especially during our current economy when there are LOTS of uncertainty.. And those who have a family to support, mortgage to pay.. It's advisable to carry on with your day job BUT at least start a part-time business (like IM)

Everyone has an idea (at least I hope so), but not every tom dick and harry can turn idea into profits.. it's our job to learn and build our idea up and sell it to the world (talking about Steve Job).. So yeah, business requires time and certainly requires lots of hard work as well.. those who think building a business is easy shouldn't be part of a business..

Personally, I would rather work hard for my business and make myself rich (even if I'm not earning as much as I can in a day job now), It's not so much about the money (even thou I know the capability to earn money via business surely beats monthly paycheck), it's about the freedom and the sense of joy.
    • GT I totally agree with you. Thanks for banging this into our heads. What I will do is I will still stick to my 9-5 and do this on a part time basis to see how it goes for me first. The I will re-evaluate my options.
  • working in a job can be great if it is geared towrd building up your own skills and marketability ..even jobs don't have to follow a 9-5 set timing..

the problem for those looking for work ..as i have found out .. is the jobs available kinda suck..
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • The time you spent working on your 9-5 would have been better spent trying to develop your own product or service... We are born for a purpose... Find your purpose and seize it...

    • It is a matter of our own choice. For me, I would prefer making money on my own terms b'coz 9-5 job is damn bore n stagnant for me.
  • i agree with Odahh
  • Definitely Internet working has added to a new dimension to the way we work and earn our daily bread. This is a full time career where you are your own boss, you decide your own wage and make the efforts accordingly
  • If everybody stopped working, we'd be back in the stone ages. The only reason why we have the civilization we are living in is because of the diversity of what people do, the specialization.
  • I totally hate this 9 to 5 routine and daily we have to do this. If want to have some bread for us and do some stuff which we like but dont have money to do it. This 9 to 5 routine also take our whole life as we have to get up early at 7 am and after office returning home at 8pm... So i think it is taking 7am to 8pm our life...

  • So should I quit my 9-5 employment?
  • Totally love Art Williams!!!

And guys... I'm smiling while typing this... I've STOPPED working for ANYONE

I've absolutely quit my job and am a full time online business entrepreneur... and the best part is that I don't spend much of my time in front of the computer managing my business. I trained a team of assistants that handle all the inquiries and stuff... and I do go out for client meetings but only when I'm testing a potential business idea that I could pursue.

I've always wanted to have the FREEDOM to live life on my own terms!

    There's absolutely nothing stopping you!
Hope you all get inspired and break all the shackles holding you back!
    Good luck

    • Hi Jeremiah/Warriors,

Great topic/thread. I hate the 9-5 working mentality but working alone all day behind your computer isn't very fun either.

That's what I've experienced with IM since I've started so I want to look for ways to work smarter instead of harder and create a free&fun lifestyle in the process.

That will be my goal for this year so I will be checking out your blog Tim and thanks for the share guys,

      Hung

  • I imagine most people that are on this forum would like to quit their job if they still have one. Personally, I'm trying to replace my offline business with my online one but adult responsibilities mean that I have to transition carefully.
  • Luckely I do not have a 9-5 job as a ground stewardess but I'm ready to completely take control of my income. Time will come soon! I'm sure there are people who love stability and they sort of don't mind to be lived by the whole 9-5 thing day in day out. They just complain for the sake of it, because everyone seems to do.

    • Hi Apurv,

thanks for your reply and clearing that out. I will take a look at Tim's site and what he has to offer.

You got me very curious and thanks for the share. Look forward to your success story and wish you even more succes

      Hung

  • If you're looking for reasons to quit your job and start making money on your own terms, then just stop and go back to your job.

This is not a business for excuses why you can't, go all or go home (or back to being someone's slave at a job making someone ELSE money).

  • Recently when I flipped through the job listing, I find that nothing interests me. Switching jobs is like moving from 1 sh!t to another sh!t. This is when I decided to start making money online.

    To our success!

  • Thanks for sharing this. The Internet has opened a lot more opportunities for people to learn and make an extra income online. Anyone who is complaining about being stuck in a 9-5 job is still living in the industrial age.
  • I started in this a few months ago and just now got to kick the ball and chain and do this full time I've never been happier and the best thing is being able to answer to yourself.
  • Good video! Everyone looks for a bigger opportunity. Making money online is one of the best key for being a good entrepreneur. The law of leveraging applies in this.
  • For me, i am happy with my work right now. There is no such happiness in helping other people. I also earning money online even if it is part time only.
