You need motivation... let me help.

Hey Justin I need your help, I'm 20 years old and I need to achieve my goal which is to earn at least $1k a month.

Procrastination, lack of discipline and lack of focus is my main problem, seems I can't discipline myself on checking my emails, earnings, facebook etc... I already tried those timer stuffs but it doesn't work on me. I have my to-do-list but completing only 5-8 tasks a day is not too much good to hear since I'm working home full time.

Currently I'm earning nearly half on my target but seems It's hard for me to scale my business.

Working from home is my very dream, I started working online since June last year(2011) and I really really love my work. Dude, I need motivation and I know you can help me.

EDIT: By the way I saw your 5 Minute Challenge Thread and I find it really useful.

Very Glad you are trying to step it up and become successful at only 20 years old! I started at 20 years old as well, and now at only 22 I do it full time and live a constantly improving life! I can relate to everything you said and I truely felt your frustration. I just want you to know that never give up, persistence is the key to making this work. No matter the lack of progress on a daily basis, you need to push through and keep up the consistency. You can do this, and within less time than you think you'll change that 1k a month goal to 10k a month! and that is more than doable before your 22 like I am! Keep striving and life gets easier! I guarantee it!

You have the potential to do anything you want with your business, to see that you are almost halfway to your goal is a huge thing.

Most people aren't even close to their bigger goals (I consider $1,000/mo a big goal) but you have taken a lot of action to get towards the goal. It's August 2012, just going on September, what are you going to do to change your next June?

Ok interesting! My first post because I'm totally lost and think this actual post will lead me toy next step!
I stumbled into this site. Actually I'm a full time corporate employee, wife and mother. I've been researching for about 6 months now wholesalers as I want to start a fashion jewelry and/or trendy toddler clothes website as well as eBay store as well as (ha ha) Facebook auction page.
Some how in one of my many late night (when all are asleep here) research searchers I found this warrior site. Now for days I can't seem to pulls self away.
Now I'm lost ! I had no idea this type of biz was out there nor that it would interest me. I have the passion for a business to succeed I just need to find what it is. I see my future working from home. Now I'm totally lost because of all the info here on this site!

Hey Justin,

I am currently in the process of creating my own eBook which will launch in approximately twenty days. The problem is that this is the first time I'm doing something like this and therefore do not know whether it has any chance of being succesful or not. This isn't a problem in itself and I'm willing to take risks. The actual problem isnthat I find it hard to keep mself motivated to write. I can't stop myself from thinking that all this time would be wasted if it wouldn't work out as I want which leads to me procrastinating.

Any help would be very much appreciated,

Big note, you're probably having these regrets because you aren't seeing results right now, that's common. At this point you are creating your product, so that makes sense.

Why not take 1 day and create a small version of your product and release it for free? That way you could see results a lot faster, which could really lift you up and motivate you.

Remember 1 conversion, 1 subscribe, 1 like, 1 fan, 1 follower, 1 email, 1 visitor, 1 viewer, it doesn't matter what it is, that 1 person is a REAL person (most of the time lol). So that means that you can impact that persons life.

I just feel that you are pushing yourself too hard and it's causing you to burn yourself out (I was trying to find that phrase the entire time I was recording lol).

You should check out someone like Jason Fried at 37 Signals, he recently wrote an article for NY Times I believe about a 4 day work week versus 5 day.

Also maybe consider "REWORK" it's an excellent book that gives you a new idea of how work should be.

Being healthy is a huge thing. Although it can be difficult. I know when I get hyped I don't want to stop, but you have to take breaks.

I could really do with some motivation from you! I have learned so much from reading through this forum and I really want to take action on it! It's just whenever I talk about my plans I seem to get knocked down by my family and friends. I find it really hard to stay positive and motivated when it feels like no one believes I can succeed. They all seem to think that I have no chance what so ever at succeeding and I would really appreciate to hear your thoughts on what I could do to keep motivated!

Great motivational video Justin. i have been at this IM thing for 2 years now. Only marginal success to it is easy to get discouraged. Your videos and encouragement have been a big help to keep me plugging away. My problem is staying focused on one thing. I tend to start something, then get an idea for something else which might work better and so it goes. The net result is not a lot of traffic, which might happen if i had a real plan.

I have just started IM in early August, Inbox Cash Techniques. The first thing I must do is to built my list, I have created my own blog, but can't complete it 100% due to I have zero knowledge on IT, e.g. now I'm struggling to put in my opt in form......really need a lot of effort. And I have also done few Solo Ad, within these 27 days, I have only 122 subscribers, when can I reach 500 or 1000 subscribers....

Sometimes I feel like giving up because of lack of knowledge, and its really bad when my course mate has getting in sales but I'm not.....

I really appreciate that you can give me some useful advice....I don't want to give up at all because I know IM can give me financial freedom.

That I can do it. I see others posting that they made money with X WSO or they bought it & it worked for them but because of previous failures, as much as I know I can do it, just worried about failing again.

I have things I want to accomplish & do & being successful will be the only way I can. I keep thinking "if they did it so can I" just need to get that first $1 then first $100 then first $1000 and so on!

I know I'm not going to make a gazillion in 30 seconds, but just to see some sort of real progress will keep me going. I'm starting a coaching program next week & feel I'll get the motivation from there. But regardless, I want success & I want freedom.

You are so right, everyone of us sometimes needs some words of encouragement or something that will motivate us to continue working hard to reach our goals.
One thing I found during my own entrepreneurial experiences is that those who pursue a career or build a business around something they are passionate about, because they have intrinsic motivation in the work they do itself and thus require much less extrinsic motivation such such as money, praise, or words of encouragement.

Sometimes You encounter people who never stop working and still seem to be happy and you wonder “How is that possible? How can that person constantly work, but still enjoy their life?”

Find Your Purpose
If you want to own Your own business, You will have to find Your Purpose, find out what motivates You to keep trying if you encounter issues along the way, raise business start-up funding, or to keep working and sacrificing valuable sleeping or leisure time. Your Purpose has to be something that You are truly passionate about, that internally makes You happy when You fulfill it and that is so strong that it will cause You to be able to do things that seemed impossible before.

This is really great what you are doing! The videos are great and you have a nice easy encouraging way about you.

I really really need some encouragement. I suffer from chronic depression and sometimes it is hard to stay motivated. I just turned 50 and even though I have accomplished a lot, I feel like a failure. I am working on an online business that uses my 20 years of experience in the IT industry. I am worried that nobody will like or care what I have to say. I worry that I can't write well to express what I want to say. I worry that in the IT world, I am old and out to pasture. I worry that I am the wrong gender. What does a woman know about IT? I worry about my marriage ending because my husband won't work.

Ok there it is. Baring my soul on an Internet forum!

I actually suffer from depression myself and have a lot of experience with going into total shutdown mode. It's not really that uncommon. Most people are just afraid to tell anyone. So that's a big step in expressing it outloud (or outword? ha.).

You've got a lot of potential, especially with 20 years of experience in IT and to be fair, I'd listen to a female over a male personally and I know a lot of people out there who would do the same. The worlds changing dramatically every single day and people are becoming more and more accepting of other cultures, genders, races, religions, etc.

Plus it's not like you specifically have to express you are a female, you could always just write. You could even use the name "Nipsy" which could be used by any gender.

You've got what it takes to go far, you just have to tell yourself that

yeah I think that for alot of folks....distraction is a biggie.

As IM ers...we are all freakin ADD...I think it's part of the culture really....

So for us to focus on "one" avenue to generate a consistent income....well it becomes extremely hard to stay focused on just one thing.

I like to do a bunch of things at once....to multitask...to challenge myself to learn new stuff. but I think that if you're staying focused on the goal....the prize....well this will keep you motivated.

In other words...doing a bunch of things...that all work together....to increase your income...well that is a good thing to be ADD about.

On the other hand...the shiny object syndrome we have....oh this one will be better...or this new deal pays an extra 30% ...or this new deal has more bonuses....or this new deal has more upsells..and on and on and on....to get on board ever launch that is coming out....well that will lead you to frustration!

I think that seeing results from my actions that I do on a consistent basis...well that is enough to keep me motivated. And of course not commuting everyday to a j o b too.

Just wanted to thank you for the motivational video. It really helps and I will listen to it when I am feeling discouraged.

You have a very nice speaking voice and project yourself as a friendly person on camera.

Hey Justin,

This is one of the Best Threads on the WF I seen!!! Thanks a million for giving back to the Forum and struggling Warriors.

I spend 7 hours per day doing IM but have earned very little. I'm subscribed to about 10 Gurus who have just overloaded me with info. So this week I unsubscribed from 8 of them and kept 2 who are well known and are sincere. Others seem to be selling me stuff I don't need on a daily basis and wasting my time. I need to be successful as IM is the only route for me and just want to earn a consistent monthly income.

My problems seem to be:-
1) Inability to focus and take action
2) I tend to give up on things that might even have potential
3) I waste time reading those shiny objects
4) I have work ethics so cannot create a WSO that will add no value to people whatsoever and cash in profits from struggling warriors. I just can't do it.
5) Feel that I have achieved nothing in life and feel worthless

I have been honest and I'm sure other struggling warriors can relate to what I'm going through. So your video response could literally change my life and that of others. As I said these kind of threads change peoples lives not the ''Earn $100,000 per month pushing a button'' or '' Discover how a down and out makes $5000 per day'' or ''How a ex Burger bar employee now makes $500,000 per day by writing articles''. Quite frankly we are all fed up of all that hype and misleading stuff. At the same time, there are hidden gems in some of these WSO's. The secret is finding those gems and getting help/advice/mentoring that your kindly given us.
