What Is The Foundation Of Your IM Business?

I was thinking about this for myself this afternoon, "What is My business built on?". Well it's not a true business in that sense, but I need a foundation to build on so that what I do with regard to marketing becomes exactly that - A business.

I have a desire, a passion to create money from my efforts that come from sitting at the computer and taking action.

But where does that begin? What steps do I take? What tools must I have to achieve my desire? What is my measure of success?

Getting back to the foundation, what is it that your business is built on? Of course it starts with a desire, but from what? To get out of debt? Not working for the Man!? Want to travel the World? Like shiny toys? What led you down the path of IM, that made you want to start building a business from nothing?

I've had a recent period of not having a clear sense of direction, and I want 2013 to be what 2012 was not!

What foundation do I need to lay? Have you heard that song, "The wise man built his house upon the rock"? Well I want to create a foundation for my business, not a pretend one but a real one that has a purpose and achieves what I want from it.

What foundation have you laid for your business. What does it comprise of?

A lot of questions but I hope you understand what I mean.

  • You could have the best product and website in the world, but without targeted traffic it is useless.

    So.. obviously, TARGETED TRAFFIC should be a good place to start for a foundation..

  • Every new business that I create online, I will target to get 1000 of targeted visitor first. Then, i will make some goal like 5 sales a day, or 10 sales a day.

  • Focus on traffic is my foundation, like other said as well.

    What keeps me going? Not a fancy cars, big houses and other similar thing...although I am not 100% imune on that ...but my main iportant reason for making money online from home is FREEDOM. freedom to work in my underwar with a cigarette and a beer if I want to.

  • My foundation was to understand how websites operate (includes hosting, domain and CMS creation) and the ranking and monetization factors that are involved with it. Well, these are the basics that, in my opinion, any old-fashioned IMer would teach you or persue with.

  • Do you have a specific method to make money or tool/software that has helped you create the foundation of your business?
  • My foundation is going to be product creation. The freedom is appealing, but in the short term, I'd like to pay off my mortgage ASAP.
  • Many say,'build a list' and the money flows in passively. I believe that it is true because, when you have a big list, you can forget about most of the other things like seo, traffic, content, post, hosting and what not. But managing the list is an art and you have to be efficient in doing it to sustain your list. With lists, you can promote almost anything...your (or others') products, websites, cpa marketing...almost everything.
