  • Hi,

    I love The Secret.

    Rocky is great too.

Really, a nice jolt of high energy music can get me going.

Overall though my motivation is intrinsic, and simply seeing my vision in quiet drives me to do what I do.

    Good share!
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Truthfully, there are some extremely inspiring 1-2 minute videos on vimeo that are full of energy like "move" and others

  • A few on the list. One of them is The Pursuit of Happyness

  • Rudy is my favorite too!!! It's not just because he succeeded despite all the odds, it's how he inspired the rest of his family (younger siblings, nieces and nephews) to aspire for more. In the process of going after his dream, he helped a lot of people expand their horizons and reach for bigger things.

    • if you want to have a very different kind of motivational experience watch Black (an Indian Movie). It is a pristine cinematic experience with a brilliant story - that will enrich your life in many ways.

See what others are saying here; Black (2005) - IMDb

I recently watched it after many years, and hope some of you watch it too.

get the one with English sub title though.

  • For me, the most inspiring movies are those that show a person doing big things. Such movies usually include someone who has less that what I have, but still manages to achieve more than what I've achieved. They remind me how vicious the self-limiting boundaries are and how important the faith is. Basically, they show me what is possible if I wasn't limiting myself.

    Such movies include:
Nolan's Batman/Dark Knight, Fight Club, Inception, It's a Wonderful Life, Limitless, Mr. Nobody, Revolver, Scent of a Woman, Seven Pounds, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Shawshank Redemption and V for Vendetta.

    • I agree with every single one of these (that I've seen).

I'd add "What the Bleep do we Know" to the list - the original, not the "quantum" version.
  • The Disney version of Hercules was a pretty motivational movie in my opinion. Even though Hercules had a lot of strength he still had to train his mind and master his strength to really become Hercules the Hero.

I pretty much am inspired by any "Zero to Hero" story.

Pursuit of Happiness was very inspiring and Will Smith did an amazing job playing his role.
  • Gladiator and life is beautiful
  • I just watched a very inspiring movie called:

    The pursuit of happyness.

Actually, I watched it a few times already.

It just shows you that even though you have hardships in your life, you can still rise up and be a huge success.
  • The pursuit of happiness is one of my favorites. Actually, I love all Will Smith movies, but this one is the best. The second his "motivational" movie is The legend of a Bagger Vance - GREAT!

Peaceful Warrior - about gymnast who fall and doctors told him he'll never be able to compete again. Nick Nolte is his mentor

All Rockys and Batman / Dark Knight.

    • Definitely the Pursuit of Happyness. Powerful and emotional movie.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I’ve been thinking of Money Ball again lately. Changed the whole back end of baseball with relative pennies. Just incredible. Who doesn’t like an underdog winning huge?
  • Remember The Titans
    Dead Poet Society
    Freedom Writers
    Good Will Hunting
    Vision Quest

    ALL GREAT MOVIES!!!
  • Hello,

You must see the Pursuit of Happyness, Into the wild (recomended), and the secret
    • [1] reply
    • That is not a movie.

I like the secret but when it comes to success in business, one must have an effective plan in place to make it.

Most people think that if they just "imagine" success and fast cars, that they will get it.
  • Forrest Gump
even do how you dumb, if you strive hard do some way to excel you achieve what you want thumbs up that movie.... like what i am doing looking friends in chatwing chatroom.
  • For me it's 'Men of Honor' and 'Truman Show'. Actually, Truman never fails to make me cry at the end
  • I've got to second (or third or 4th) Rudy. I mean, come on... if that doesn't motivate you, what will?

I may be alone in this one, but "Mr. Holland's Opus" is as inspirational/motivational as they come. Is it cheesy? Sure. But if you're not rooting for Richard Dreyfus by the end of it... then you've got no soul.

Forest Gump is kind of an obvious choice, but I definitely have to include it in my favorite motivational movies. I mean, come on, that (fictional) dude lived a LIFE!

    Braveheart, for sure.

Lastly, Empire Strikes Back. What line from any movie is more motivational than "Do, or do not. There is no try."
  • Peaceful Warrior - I love that movie whatever your struggles in life you have to learn to be peaceful inside.

Into the Wild - Happiness Only Real When Shared

Pursuit To Happyness - Don't Listen To People Telling You Can't Do It

Rocky The Last Movie - The world is a nasty place I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees if you'll let it
  • good will hunting is my favorite, amazing!
  • there have a indian movie called '3 Idiots '

  • Strange choice, I know... but I really liked Limitless.

It's kind of motivational to see the main character work from scratch up to his really powerful role. Shows you the power of the mind.

  • I am a big fan of Limitless, Wolf of Wall Street and the Great Gatsby. Pure motivation for me!

  • Maybe I'm going off topic here but I love watching Ted Talks on Netflix or YouTube.

One of the most inspiring speakers I've heard so far is Peter Diamandis. This may be the best 16 minutes you'll spend in your life:

  • Rocky III.

It's all about picking yourself up after a huge setback.
  • I like "rocky". Another one is "Peaceful warrior"
  • Another vote for Rocky and one for Shine. The piano player that overcame the impossible as if it was nothing.
  • whenever i want to be motivated and inspired, i watch either pursuit of happyness, rocky, or shawshank redemption. Proves that nothing is impossible

  • The Diary of Anne frank & life is beautiful .This 2 movies is my all times fav.
  • Limitless. Guy completely turns his life around in only a week.

    • Wow, reading these replies made me remember a lot of great movies that hadn't come to mind, here's a couple, well three, that I didn't see listed;

      Second Hand Lions
      Joe Versus the Volcano
What the Bleep Do We Know

I also spent a couple hours in the last couple of weeks going through Youtube checking out motivational videos, sometimes when we aren't being productive and can't figure out why, it's really depression, at least for me that what I realized, I just had to fill up that well of good thought, good energy and I was back to GO!
  • The Pursuit of Happyness is the most motivating for me. From struggle to being ridiculed for a dream to being a successful broker. It taught me well to never let anyone tell you that you can't have what you want. Also "The Bucket List" reminds me to take action, 'cos, well... Life's too short.

It may sound stupid but mine is The Wolf Of Wall Street. I loved that movie and it motivated me to work harder. I loved the whole drugs/prostitutes/flash cars and yachts thing going on and that motivated me even more. (No, I will not hire prostitutes or sniff cocaine, it was meant hypothetically).
  • The Pursuit of Happyness (2006)
  • Rudy
    Remember the Titans
    Miracle

I NEVER cry but always happen to "have something in my eye" when watching with the wife.
  • My all time Favorite Movie is The Opus!!!

    Some other great Movies include:

What The Bleep Do We Know, The Secret, The Compass, The Lego Movie, Yes Man, The Giver, The Matrix Trilogy, and more than I can possibly remember right now LOL.

    I hope you ENJOY!

    Yours In Prosperity,

  • Okay, I'm a complete nerd, and my favorite motivational movie is absolutely "Star Wars" because all these tiny factions come together to take down something so massive, they could never do it unless they all worked together and did their parts.
  • I have found 'The Peaceful Warrior' as one of the best motivational movies of all time. It is also based on the true story of gymnast champion Dan Millman and later on himself becoming a motivational speaker/writer. His life story and the movie once again show cases the fact that 'Nothing is impossible!'
