Do you have a daily routine?

So as an online entrepreneur, our work days are a bit different than that of a "normal employee". We can set our own hours, work when we want, take breaks when we want and so on.

So I was wondering how many of you have daily work routines?

example:
-wake up
-cleanup
-eat
-exercise/yoga
-cleanup
-work
-so on

Or do you just wake up and kind of take life as it comes?

I find if I don't put a plan together or a schedule of the days activities, goals, etc I'm incredibly unproductive and don't get nearly as much done as I do when I've got a plan to guide me.

I think time management and laser beam focus are two of the greatest struggles online entrepreneurs face. Being your own boss isn't as easy as most people think it is. It takes a certain person to excel at what were all trying to do out there.

Call it natural selection or whatever you will but life usually weeds out the well intentioned from the well prepared...

I usually like to come here and help others wherever I can.

I also pay for solo ads that help me build my network marketing business online.

I will usually be online for less then 1 or 2 hours.

Once I have all my solo ads ready to go and paid for, I usually like to take 2-3 days off while still getting signups without me being online. That is the beauty of building a team on the web.

      A team??

As in you have someone else doing the work for you?

      sounds interesting.

I try my best to follow this 6 days a week and then take Saturdays off. Obviously it doesn't always work out perfectly. The point of a schedule is to have a complete, "bigger" picture while still retaining the ability to quickly adapt to in the moment changes, increase/decrease in work load, emergencies, and so on without allowing them to derail your bigger picture.

I have a short ritual that I follow every single day unless I'm traveling or something gets in the way.

    Wake up.
    10 minute meditation.
    Go shower.
    Read my personal mission statement.
Read around 5 pages of a book.
    get a glass of water.
Write for 2-5 minutes whatever comes to mind.
    Start working...

I totally agree. Online entrepreneurs can do pretty much whatever they want.

I like this post, because I've recently been spending a lot of time thinking about the concept of rituals. I've thought about how some people have daily rituals that consistently earn them the minimum wage, while other people have daily rituals that generate millions of dollars per year for them. Obviously, this is a very over-simplified way of looking at the income disparities in the world. Still, our results in life really do just come down to how we choose to spend our time each day. Thanks for this post!

      I wholeheartedly agree,

I come from an economics background, and there is a term (opportunity cost) which I believe applies to all aspects of life.

Opportunity cost, in a nutshell, is the decision to give up one thing in order to make a gain in another area.

Ie, drink and part or study for a test. One will lead to lots of fun (now), one will lead to boredom, with passing grades.

If you give up the drinking and partying in lieu of studying, you pass your class graduate, get a nice job and have a better life (theoretically speaking).

If you give up studying, in lieu of partying, you'll have lots of fun, maybe get into some trouble, fail your class and have a horrible future. (Again, theoretically speaking)

I said all of that to say that success comes down to having a daily ritual which includes you making more right decisions (ie studying), vs. fun, comforting, easy decisions (ie partying)

      Thats my belief anyway.

The only routine I have is that I always end one day by planning what I am going to the the following day. This helps me focus on what I need to do with both IM & non IM related tasks and keeps a balance to my work & life.
