I am looking for targeted U.S. Cell Phone lists that I want to use for SMS texting. Does this exist? Are there brokers out there that sell this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Yes there are data-brokers for these types of lists. Though generally it's a questionable area in terms of trusting how the lists were created. We had an issue not to long ago, where we purchased what we had thought was an opt-in list and it ended up being scraped from the web, and pissed a lot of people off. Not to mention you can open yourself to litigation from the likes of Verizon/AT&T/Sprint et cetera. In my vast experience with mobile marketing, you are much better off collecting and maintaining your own txt msg lists for a particular client or your own business. Just saying

MMA Guidelines prohibit the use of Rented or Purchased Cellphone Lists. One of the first things that happens when uploading a list is the SMS Provider is required to verify that the number Owner confirm that they have opted in. If the Provider finds out you are attempting to upload a rented or purchased list of numbers your account will be terminated. |

Thank you for all the responses. However, I keep hearing and reading about "best practices" and "guidelines", Yet every day I get spammed with all kinds of offers on my phone that I did not sign up for. As a matter of fact MY number is on the DNC list. So to be honest, at this point, I don't care about guidelines and best practices, as long as I am not breaking the law. When I hear "guidelines" and "Best Practices" it sounds like a group of folks trying to govern what "should" be done. I know I have seen lists for sale about a month ago, not sure if they are still selling them, I wish I would have bookmarked it. |
