People do this all the time. They hear a few lines about something that happened and think they know everything about it. Actually, with all the real hardcore crap that is going down right now, I'm just happy as heck to just ignore it and let the jury handle it. It will be an interesting side note when they give the verdict, but not worth spending time deliberating otherwise. Right now we don't need people to be so drooling stupidly diverted.

At what point will people stop participating in the social media madness?

All it takes is a planted article or a comment or a "what if" and people are crucified on social media. It's why I don't participate. Unproven allegations - theories of what "might have" occurred - and blatant lies from people with an axe to grind.

Even if true - it's not the business of the whole world what Jared does - or what the Duggers do - or what Cosby did....it's trial and execution by public opinion and I think it's stupid.

People are being led by the nose on these stories. Last week on a "news" show a left-leaning anchor was angry that the "Trump news" was not being slammed on social media.....and a right leaning guest was furious that "our petition about Planned Parenthood can't get enough signatures online"....

They were both - left and right - angry that social media was focused on Cecil the lion - instead of on the planted stories people were "supposed" to pay attention to.

Absolutely well said Kay. It's unfortunate but a fact that people are hungry and eager to latch on to something that pulls down another person, even when there is not yet proof. We really need to be willing to hold off on final judgments in situations like this.

I'm sorry but I think any man who has sex with a 16 year old is the worst kind of scum. I don't feel the least bit sorry for Cosby or Jared or any other piece of garbage that does things like this.

According to a new report, Fogle confesses in text messages to a former Subway colleague

Suspended Subway spokesman Jared Fogle admitted in a text message that he paid a 16-year-old girl $100 for sex.

According the claims in a new Business Insider report, the FBI subpoenaed an affidavit that contains text messages sent between Fogle and a former Subway franchisee who he was romantically linked to.

Fogle told the unidentified woman to advertise herself on Craigslist for sex with other men. He asked if he can watch the sex acts and said she can make about $500 per act

At one point, she responded, “Is this the same website you found that 16-year-old girl that you f-ked… I still can’t believe you only paid $100 for her.” Fogle allegedly responded, “It was amazing!!!!”

The texts are also said to reveal that he asked to meet with the woman’s underage cousin.

But that's the point. You've made up your mind - it's wrong - they are guilty - they are scum - even though you don't know if it's true. You don't know where the info came from or who is making the charges (they are anonymous).

It doesn't' matter if this story is proven to be false in the future - some will still believe it. They will claim there MUST be truth to it or it wouldn't be in the news - rather than admit they drank the koolaid.

On social media people are gleeful at the downfall of others - it's sad and it's ugly and even when the claims and rumors are wrong it destroys livelihoods.

Uhhh ... Jared confessed to paying a 16 year old girl $100. He also inquired about his "friend's" underage cousin. Condone it all you want, but that is low life garbage to me.

I don't care what the age of consent is. Any man who can look at a teenage girl in a sexual manner and think about her in a sexual manner is a pedophile and a predator of the worst kind.

I got the impression that you were very "gleeful" about the social media massacre of the dentist lion killer. But not sexual predators.

I believe that you even said that didn't a whit about the dentist's family and repercussions on his career. He killed a lion. Even though the government of Zimbabwe issues those big game licenses at great cost to the purchaser and even though it is unknown whether or not he knew it was an illegal hunt. Him and his family can go to hell and die.

I have little sympathy for him either, but there is an avalanche of evidence against Cosby as a serial rapist who drugged women to get sex and there is an admission by Jared that he paid a 16 yr old girl for sex and wanted sex with another girl's underage cousin. The affadavit with the texts between the two have been verified by Business Insider.

Can you give me a link to the "confession" - everything I find refers to the "alleged confessions in texts" ... and those texts have not yet been provided by the woman who claims to have received them.

Don't get me wrong - Jared may be pond scum - I don't know. I refuse to condemn people based on what is claimed by anonymous people who claim to have evidence they haven't yet turned over to authorities.

The woman claimed in a deposition to have these texts - either she can produce them and they can be verified...or she can't.

As a guy I just wanted to say I don't know what the junk Claude is talking about and he CERTAINLY is not talking for all men. There are certainly 16 year olds that look adult but to say every man on the planet lusts after the 16 year old form is just nonsense.

That said I'll pass on believing Jared is guilty until there is more evidence. Slandering guys has become an art form. All you have to do is make the right accusation and to some people you are guilty for life. I know of two guys where the accusers either withdrew the accusation or were found not credible and they still are seen as guilty by people around them

I'm sorry. I should have left out gay men, old men, asexual men. And it isn't evil. Some girls mature by the age of 16 (physically at least). The man looking at them doesn't know their age. It's just natural to find attractive girls...attractive.

Only thing I slightly disagree with is that some girls physically mature earlier then 16. I'd often look at some of my daughters teen friends and think they where hot looking. I never lusted after any of them, but I did feel sorry for them as it meant they would be attracting boys at an earlier age then they where mentally mature enough to deal with.
By the way even as an old man I still can look at an attractive female and think she is attractive. Doesn't mean I lust after them.

Got that. No, it's not lust...at least not for most. But it is sexual. Meaning, men don't look at young guys the same way.

When I was in a Think Tank, working on a marketing program for a company....they showed me (and a small group of experts) an ad that had a photo of a young girl, posing seductively.

I told them, "This will show how old I am. My first thought is 'what do her parents think, when they see this?'"

Nice to know you can read men's thoughts.

I'm pretty sure any man you know is not going to admit to having sexual thoughts about a teenage girl especially judging by your reaction.

I hope you're not naive enough to think because a man has a daughter he wont have sexual thoughts about a 16 year old girl whose body has matured.

Acting on those thoughts are what makes the difference.

Actually the man knowing what thoughts he gets about girls is one of the reasons he is so protective about his daughter. He knows exactly what some other man is thinking. BECAUSE HE THINKS THE SAME about other girls. Only difference is he doesn't know the actions of another man.

I would be comfortable with her response to physical stimuli in as much as I'm comfortable with my own. I might catch a glimpse at a terrific specimen of the female form only to find out - via additional data - that said form is under age. Thus, she's cast aside.

The point is it's not the age of the girl that I find attractive. It's her figure, yet to be tainted by the vagaries of life. And I'm not talking about a 16 year old who looks 16. I'm talking about the 16 year who looks 24. You see the figure and then you wince when you see the face of a child.

And to make the obligatory statement: I haven't had any kind of sexual contact with a sixteen year old in 24 years -- i.e., when I was 16.

So, would your little parameter make me comfortable. Not completely, but I'm not about to charge someone with thought crime, either.

... and I'm not the thought police either. This thread is about a man who hired a 16 year old hooker and texted that experience to his girlfriend. He also asked that girlfriend to hire herself out on Craigslist and let him watch. That is verified by a court reporter, a lawyer and a notary that those texts exist and are from his phone. That's more than sexual "thoughts."

Precisely. Having sex with a 16 year old is gross and should be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law.

A properly functioning male brain takes a glance (because the base brain won't shut up if we don't), sees what he's attracted to, assesses appropriateness, and responds - not necessarily in this order.

Dan , what you say makes complete sense. I know it sounds ugly for people to hear.. particularly females.

I think a lot of females think males say this as some sort of comp out or excuse.

But for most of us it is NOT an excuse at all !! And we are not saying it to sound like chauvinistic pigs

On the contrary, we are just recognizing our weaknesses and know it is a must that we do the Moral thing
( well most of us anyway)

A person can hem and haw on and on about how sick this predisposed Mindset is but it is just basic bottom dwelling instinctive tendencies within males that has developed over thousands and thousands of years.

Of course, what we do as males after the innate instincts kick in is what really truly counts.

I just bought a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and a small (8 ft. Jon Boat) that fits into the pickup bed. I wanted that because I am not comfortable with my driving a big truck AND a trailer abilities. I can foresee complete disaster.

Problem is, I bought that particular boat because I figured I could load and unload it myself. I find that it is too heavy for me to get up into the pickup bed by myself and now I find myself having impure thoughts towards winches and hoists and I am at a quandary as to what would be the best solution to automate or assist with loading/unloading the boat from my truck by myself.

Any ideas?

It took both me and one of my daughters to push it into the truck bed yesterday once we got the front end onto the tailgate. It was even quite a chore to use the side handles to lift/slide it down to the water, but I can probably deal with that if I put a rope on the front to drag it a bit. I probably should have just bought a stupid inflatable one. lol.

Place a pulley on a tree branch. Raise the front of the boat up in the air so it's almost standing upright. Back the truck up to the boat. Lower the pulley slowly. If it tries to slide off the pickup rather than lay down in the bed, use two pulleys (one front and back) and raise the whole boat into the air and back up under it.

That would help you get it in truck. Getting it out should be easy enough. Getting it back in the pickup at the lake or river could be difficult though. At that point you might have to sell it and buy a new boat every time you go boating...or enlist some help.

Seriously though, if you can back the pickup down a boat ramp it might not be too difficult to get the boat back into the truck. The water will do some of the lifting for you. Take some help with you the first time to make sure you can do it.

Or, just get a low cost come along. 2 ton Come-Along Cable Puller

Yes. Actually to a degree that is true particularly with 19 year old men. Thats just being honest. Most 17, 18, and 19 year old males are walking penises. Thats nature. If they see an attractive woman walk by, their penises straighten up in a quick second. Thats NO exaggeration either

And thats coming from a guy who hates discrimination and Sexism and is a strong advocate for Equality among sexes and races

That being said its the ability and discipline to control your thoughts and realize they are damaging and disrespectful ... in the long run thats what counts.

I don't care how it feels to be a male and I don't care whether or not you like my "judgement" or my take on this particular guy. I did my research and I have zero sympathy for him and could care less about his career. I make up my own mind about what I read and if you don't care for my opinion, well, that's just too bad. Because I'm going to give it either way.

If you want everyone to see things your way and agree with each other, maybe you should post less deliberately controversial topics ... like maybe unicorns, butterflies and kittens might do the trick. The age of consent has been 16 in the UK for as long as I can remember. I believe it's 13 or 14 in Holland. Very few unwanted teenage pregnancies in Holland as they educate them well. I have not looked at the UK stats.

It was a man who worked for Jared who was arrested - in April - in connection with child porn.

That guy isn't famous - but Jared is. Thus the story became all about Jared even though according to police:

"Jared has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation of unspecified charges and looks forward to its conclusion," attorney Ron Elberger said in an email. "He has not been detained, arrested or charged with any crime or offense."

Now an anonymous person claims Jared had sex with a 16 yr old - which is legal age in his state by the way - so I guess the crime (if it happened) was paying for it?

I don't know - just have a bad reaction when I see piling on like this without any proof - any charges filed, etc.

Aberrant behavior has always led to public displays of disapproval.

Weird, but lucrative "career" for Jared. When the allegations first surfaced,
I saw video of his home, er, mansion.

Early on, he voluntarily agreed to put his relationship with Subway on hold
while they investigated the other man and confiscated all Jared's computers...

I think in a lot of States, 16 might be the age of consent if the two are within two or four years
of age apart. It becomes statutory rape if the age difference is greater than the two or four
years - depending upon the State's laws. I'm sure there are some degrees of different legal
terms and classifications, such as sexual assault on a minor instead of statutory rape....

Pretty sure it would be rape or statutory rape in Colorado if, for example, the guy is 20 or 21 and the girl is
16 or younger. Maybe 17 or younger.

Is that OK with you? Is that normal behavior to you? Would you find that embarrassing or disgusting? Isn't that just girls will be girls?

I think we are speaking about this in a different context than you.

Claude pointed out that there is not a man in this World who has not had at least a quick passing thought about a teenage girl who crossed his path.

I am pretty sure Claude meant that not in a ruminating way.

Sure I totally agree with you if you sit in the moment and consciously drool over a 16 year old girl it is very inappropriate and you have real serious problems if you do that

I will not argue with you on that on any level.

I could be wrong but I took Claude's remark as fleeting, involuntarily and spontaneous sexual thoughts.

A momentary lapse of judgement only to be correctly rectified within a minute or even seconds

While I personally can't wrap my head around sexual thoughts towards 16 year olds, I acknowledge that probably plenty of men have them and it never goes beyond a dirty little thought.

I think I'll wait for the jury decision before I decide what Jared actually did or didn't do.

I've never been a guy (seriously - I really haven't - I was born female) but I did work at a crisis center. Guys around 18 - 20 are walking penises. Some have been instilled with the knowledge that self control will keep them out of jail, and some have not. Any guy that doesn't know by that age that it is wrong to take someone by force or by coercion (such as getting them too drunk or high to say no) is a problem, and is either perverted or criminal...or a mix of both.

However - as you say "sexy 16 year old". Yes, guys, even if they know they aren't supposed to touch, are still not blind. Of course a well developed girl with the clothes and makeup done specifically to turn heads is going to do just that. My friends and I knew how to turn heads at 16 and it was considered extremely kewl to have an older guy on the line (up to a certain age anyway). We probably could have been considered predatory ourselves at times. You really think a 19 year old boy - not quite out of his own teen years yet is a raging pervert for being attracted to a 16 year old girl? Really? Most of my graduating class were going with underclassmen girls when they graduated. I'm pretty sure that most were not platonic relationships. Were they all criminals? They weren't forcing their girlfriends to do anything they didn't consent to. Sure they were young, but not THAT young.

Where Jared screwed up (If he's found to actually have done so) is offering money - which may be a result of his fame. I'm sure he feels like a big shot tossing cash at girls - and there's a lot of girls of 16 who would be glad to boff him just to see if they could get into some of that cash. Also if he coerced her to sell herself that's going over the line of decency, but I didn't hear of "force" used at all. Do you think maybe by the age of 16, ans with the ability to become pregnant maybe a girl should have the damned mental capacity, morals, and common sense to know when to say no?

When I was 16, if a 19 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl was normal high school love life behavior. If he forced you or coerced you (drugs, alcohol, etc) he was called a rapist. A girl who did it for money was called a whore.

Idon't like the "walking penises" line, but otherwise, you are right. And HEY, the 16 yo apparently was OK with it. As for 16 versus 19? Sometimes it is the OTHER way. And suppose two people REALLY love one another, and are about two years apart, or even one day apart. Eventually one will still be a minor while the other isn't.

The 16 year old was apparently ok with prostitution. That doesn't make it any less illegal and it also doesn't make Jared a good spokesperson for Subway or any other company, unless that's part of their "brand" they're trying to promote.

From everything I've read this Jared fellow is being cooperative with law enforcement and he hasn't been charged with a crime. Regarding the affidavit and it's contents it's still allegations and not hard proof of anything in my eyes. I'd like to see more evidence before I come to any reasonable conclusion. Right now I don't have enough information to decide if this guy is a scumbag or not.

With Bill Cosby, there's more than enough already out there to come to a reasonable conclusion that he is indeed a rapist.

But even if this goes away, I think Jared's role as the Subway spokesperson is done. Unfortunately, people are tried in the media and social media many times before the real facts come out into play. Sort of reminds me of the Amanda Knox story all over again, but in that story her roommate was brutally murdered and the Italian prosecutor already deemed her guilty, even though the evidence that eventually came out actually proved she wasn't the killer.

He won't be charged with a crime unless that FBI search of his home turns up kiddie porn. The fact is that the FBI and law enforcement does not release evidence to people just because they want to satisfy themselves that it is legit. I seriously doubt that they'll attempt to track down the 16 year old hooker to press charges.

However, in 2008, the franchisee, her lawyer, Business Insider and a court reporter and a notary all verified the texts and verified that they came from his phone. How much evidence does one need?

Meanwhile, another Cosby accuser from 31 years ago...by the time he dies of old age I wonder how many old ladies will have "come forward".

I watched the CNN series (part of it) "The Seventies" recently and was reminded of how it really WAS back then - women with "new freedom" and the new attitude toward sex, etc. Guess the attitude didn't last....

There are studies showing that a lot of women have loving feelings about the person they have sex with - meaning that sex brings those emotions. That and unwanted pregnancies and crappy treatment by men helped change the "freedom" attitude.

A decent guy will glance at the menu until he finds out she's involved (if she's age appropriate for him), or realizes she's too young. And, he will remember that "her eyes are up here".

My step sister was very well developed at age 13. We often had to say something to the guys who were too lustful or gross. A glance is to be expected.

If I had daughters they would of course not do it until they were married adults. But an older guy or gal really wanting to do it, or doing it with a 16 year old - yuck. Prostitute or not. I don't think prostitution is legal in Indiana.

Attraction part is biology. What happens after depends upon the decency and how the person was raised. I think this applies to men and women and boys and girls. All my adult life I've been checked out, or flirted with, by females of all ages and it still happens to me at age 55. Some have crossed the line into turn off, gross, or creepy. "There's my next ex-husband" is not a good line.

We used to have a group of tow truck drivers stay at my hotel. Before I started, it was done as a
community service thing because they were in the area to help clear the highways during peak times on behalf of the State Department of Transportation.

One of the reasons they don't stay here anymore is because I was uncomfortable with their prolonged lustful looks at some of my customers.

Back to the exact topic, of course I want to see if the allegations are true. But, inasmuch as he has
voluntarily stepped away from being spokesperson, I think it would be harmful to Subway to bring
him back regardless. If he did absolutely nothing wrong, it would be a shame. Seems like he did something that's not appropriate for a Subway spokesperson - just like NFL players have stuff they can't do by contract.

Guys relax. There's one huge difference between thinking "oh wow, that's hot" and thinking "oh wow, I have to go get me some of that". I'm a 60 year old woman and when I see a young guy that's hot - I don't get embarrassed about thinking so. There are a lot of 16, 17, 18 year old guys that are absolutely gorgeous and I'd be a liar if I said they weren't attractive as hell, even if under-aged. But there's one hella difference between saying "wow, that's hot" and "wow, I'm gonna get me some of that". That has to be recognized and anyone that does not understand the difference in those two dispositions, it might be a good idea for them to get some help with whatever repression has them not able to differentiate normal and abnormal sexual inclinations.

There would be different ways to go about using a creeper. I'm notorious for my precarious furniture moving concepts so tread lightly.

You could bungee the boat and creeper together so you just roll the boat up the ramp. You'd have to pitch the creeper forward on the boat so the nose doesn't hit the ramp before the creeper's wheels. One caveat: the weight of the boat may still be too much. This is a possible idea if the weight is just a bit too much.

Another idea that is geographically dependent: I have a ditch in my front yard. I back my truck into the ditch, which, in turn, angles my truck as though it itself is a ramp. I slide my riding mower right in the bed. Then I stuff my spleen back up my keister and go about my merry way.

Funny - I wasn't directing that comment at you. Is there some reason you think I did? Nope Sal. Teens are a complete turnoff to me. I think they're idiots and I never get past that. I'm not attracted to idiots and if a man's mind is not attractive to me, he is not attractive to me no matter what he looks like.

I like mature adult men, very rugged types, not pretty boys, definitely not gym hounds. There is nothing a teenage boy has that fits in the list of things that attract me. My first husband was 7 years older than me. I didn't like teenage boys when I was a teenager, so I pretty much bid my time and married an older man when I was old enough, and No ...I never told a friend her son was a "lady killer."

Johnny Depp is the youngest and prettiest man I've ever been attracted to and that's just a silly fantasy, but it still feels like robbing the cradle.

I thought it would be around 100 lbs, but it seems more like or closer to 200 lbs with battery and trolling motor in it. That's a cool ramp, but I can't actually build something like that for a state lake. There are two launching ramps there ... one for kayaks and small boats like mine and the other for the guys who back in with trailers.

I think a ramp like that from ground or water to the tail gate, or end of the truck bed. Something you take with you.

What about a removable rail system with a wheel stop? Rails encase the wheels, allowing the ramp to slide into a set position stopping at the end of the truck bed. The ramp itself would have rollers lining the middle of the ramp. Easy to roll up and down or even pick up (with a couple people when available) the ramp with the boat on it and slide it into the truck bed. I'm sure a removable frame could be constructed that wouldn't require any holes in the bed itself.
