Think of reddit.com's sub-reddits like the forums here at the Warrior Forum.

Well, there is a sub-reddit called r/freebies with a ton of free stuff listed.

You can get there from here,

r/Freebies

If you check it out and find something interesting, let the people here know.

Warning: I used to be in that niche, there's no such thing as "free."

They had a Graco baby stroller listed for free. My daughter ordered one and they sent her a email stating they made a mistake on the price and it wasn't free. They ended up giving her a 25 dollar gift card.

That's different, most of stuff listed there or on freebie sites are "free" offers. So it's mostly free samples, a trick to get you into a sales funnel, or free promotional material.

Or some clever person found that 2 coupons some how, unintentionally work together and that brings the price to zero / near zero.

Negative. You'd be wrong on that.

This sub-reddit is supposed to be where people who find good deals that have a "free" element to it can post and share.

        Perfect? No.

        A fit for everyone? No.

An interest or benefit to some? Yes

I prefer the free section of Craiglist. I've gotten 4 couches from estates, that are in pristine condition, an oak Queen bed with headboard and footboard and matching dresser, a stove and a washer to replace ours that stopped working (in great condition), 3 other queen mattresses and box springs like new condition, a huge projection TV in great condition, two loveseats that match the couches I got well, plus an oversized recliner that also matches well, and a glass coffee table.

I've pretty much refurnished every room of the house for the cost of the gas to go get it. Must have a truck to haul it though.

People move and a lot of them don't want to throw away perfectly good stuff, but also don't want to move it, especially for long moves.

I've gotten a few things through there including the Raspberry bushes in my yard.

Yeah, they do have a group near me. I could have gotten a lot of trees and bushes too if I'd had the energy to dig them up. If we didn't already have a lot of landscaping, I would have.

It's really amazing the things that people give away.

I also put my non-working stove and washer on there for scrap and within the same day, scrappers came and removed them. Saved me the trouble of loading them on my truck and going to the landfill.

A fair point though a different animal.

I understand that some have picked up some free stuff from CL, then turned around and posted it for sale. I think that is just smart.

I'm certain some do, especially the used stuff stores around here, but they have to be online constantly and they have to be first. The really good stuff disappears in minutes around here. It took me all summer to find and be first for all the stuff I wanted to refurnish here. I'm very particular and only wanted stuff that was in pristine condition and furniture that matched so that it looked like it was part of a set.

As well as the great stuff I got, people will put up furniture that looks like it was chewed up and spit out by dogs. Don't know ... maybe someone is so desperate for furniture, they'll take it.
