Preinstalled Apps: "Woman Safety" wow... That seriously deserves a Picard /facepalm.

The cost of the components is greater then the cost of the phone so I'm sure they make money off the service.

This is like saying the cost of cable internet is 0$ because they waive the installation fee.

That is a true Android Smartphone alright. It appears to be a rebrand of an existing Chinese made Smartphone that sells for around 15 times more. It is reported that it costs at least 10 times to produce the phone. The company is hoping to make back its money through a app marketplace.

Yeah, they take a LOT of liberties with price. Aren't there still phones in the US that cost "NOTHING"? They are really SUBSIDIZED! MOST phones in the US are. THAT is why phone companies have special ones made, get branded, and LOCKED!

They are ALSO talking about building computers for $100. The RASBERRY PI had a LOOOOW price point. I forget whether it was $25 or $35, but they supposedly JUST made it! That was with NO size constraints, design needs, cooling, input,or output, or even POWER. Even a phone's BATTERY can cost a lot, comparatively. And with the RP, I am talking about the ORIGINAL, and not any of the latest models. And I think google DOES charge a fee to use android in phones also. If so, you can count that as part of the cost.

      Steve.
