"Teddy in his own words" is a CNN special airing now and will probably be shown more than once.

It's doesn't matter what your political leanings - this is a fascinating look at America from the late 50's on. Many old film clips I've never seen anywhere and I'm struck by the close interaction of public figures with the people.

If you are older it will remind you of times you may have not thought of for years. Young people might be surprised at the lack of staging and talking points in these clips.

One thing I notice - in the films of crowds of voter or demonstrators - any public gathering - it's hard to find an overweight person, let alone an obese one.

Thanks Kay, just checked it out.
I tuned in during the Bobby Kennedy funeral.
I always liked the Kennedy clan.

I was in the chair when this was posted but I'm guessing and hoping it will be repeated tomorrow during the day and I can catch it in its entirety.

        Thom -

I'm with you about the Kennedy's. Didn't always agree with them but admired their dedication and they had my respect.

One of the films shown was an interview when Ted Kennedy's son had his leg removed due to cancer. Kennedy commented that his son had received excellent medical care and that change was needed so that level of care was available to every child in the country.

It's refreshing to see someone who expressed the same beliefs years ago that he did weeks ago. Too often, the beliefs change with the way the wind is blowing in D.C.

It's very noticable. Heck, even in the last ten years I can see the difference. Very alarming.
