2am Perfect Time to Turn on Your Inspiration Light Bulb

Am I the only one sleeping with a smartphone under the pillow? It's not healthy and I sure hope it's not too dangerous, but I'm helpless. You never know when a good idea may arrive. It usually happens around 2 or 3 am. A perfect moment to get inspired. Why is that?

Is it something that has to do with our brain processing all the info from the previous day? I remember reading about the guys who were able to solve extremely complex problems while dreaming about them. That sounds great. You don't have to worry about insomnia. You rise and shine in the morning. Make a few notes about the solution and you're good to go. There's only one trouble, though. Aren't we supposed to forget almost all things related to our dream by the time we wake up? We are left only with the fragments. Right?

Guess, I have no other choice than to be a night bird. This is how I come up with an idea for a special Christmas program. There are no guarantees it's going to be a successful one, but at least, I have an idea what to do. Of course, there are regular daily alternatives. You are sitting in your office and you say to yourself. Today, I'm going to decide what to do about this or that. So, you think and you think. At the end of the day, you end up with nothing. On the other side, you have this 2am inspiration thing. You get an idea in a second. Just like that. All you have to do is to develop it later. Yet, there is a cost. A good idea always comes at the bad time, or maybe it is better to say bedtime.

Any night bird out there willing to share some of the personal experiences about inspiration taking place at unusual hours?

Does the smartphone have to be under your pillow? Why not on a nightstand next to the bed?

I agree, though. I tend to work best when I'm free of distractions -- this typically tends to be in the wee hours of the morning.

I know, I know, but I'm helpless. No point to lie, right. It's not healthy. I hate it, but you know. It is what it is. Sleeping with the bomb under your pillow, lol.

You want to be creative? Get 8 to 9 hours of restful, uninterrupted sleep each night and you will be on top of your game all day, be amazed at your output and you will live longer - thereby resulting in more time to have creative thoughts.

You can't fight Mother Nature. Well, I guess you can fight her, but you'll never win.

I tried. Was that an honest try? Hm, not sure. I failed. The end of the year. Time for some doctor's visits. Time to face the consequences of this failure. Obviously.

        No doctor visit, needed.

        1. Get more fresh air and moderate exercise.

2, No food or drink within 3 hours of bedtime.

        3. Unplug from your wired world at least 2 hours before bed time. Turn all of that shit off. You'll survive.

        4. Intense masturbation session. Repeat if you wake up in the middle of the night

        5. Tryptophan supplements one hour before bedtime.

        Pleasant dreams!

Sorry, I don't sleep with a smart phone under my pillow. And most nights I am up until 2 a.m. anyways. The time that I get the most inspiration is always in the shower. I keep telling the muse to wait until bath time is over, but she is bossy and don't listen to me.
