What is the thing you are the most passionate about?

Something that you do that dissolves the world around you whether it be a hobby, or a favourite film or music or band or even your job?

the thing I am the most passionate about is learning. it's my favourite thing ever. learning something new. experiencing something new. exploring new places etc!

i also love fixing things and solving problems!

I love blogging and traveling, and also exercising, and following basketball. All big passions of mine. I used to model on the side and played basketball to the JUCO level when those passions dominated my life. Now blogging and traveling dominate my life. Evidenced by my blog

    I love making music!

Closing my eyes listening to a melody and beats is like diving into the deep sea watching colorful corals around.

And the process of making it is full of fun and joy!

Sasquatch research... no I'm not kidding. I've spent many days/nights out in the woods and "much" has occurred which have been eye-openers. The reality is passion can sometimes become more of an obsession however. You have to balance things out in life so I don't spend the time doing things like I did a few years ago. I'm in a number of private Facebook groups and you would be amazed how many people from all walks of life are immersed in the Sasquatch (AKA Bigfoot) subject.

I love helping people. I once considered doing social work full-time. But I did't pursue it because I felt kind of an outcast. I see social work as a structure and how business and marketing concepts apply to it. It's not sexy. It doesn't tug the heart strings. And it made me sound like a greedy capitalist. The irony though is that my old colleagues in my volunteer and social work do consult with me every once in a while for marketing and organization. But they won't ask me to join in officially because they think I'm too much of a capitalist to care for the disenfranchised.

Two edged sword, either do what Billy Joel did, and produce popular music, make a ton of cash and then do what he loves which is classical composition.

Or do classical first and live in poverty hoping for a break?

I ditched ceramics, about 10 years ago, and went online instead, since it was 2008 and pretty obvious from the reduction in other talented ceramic artists sales that a storm was coming, and it was good to shelve that.

Now or 2018, and having recently visited Melbourne, l see a very popular gallery, selling very expensive works, for a good 10 years, (probably more without checking)....gone.

Mainly because of stagnating wages, and probably other issues.

I have also gone with my Mother to the International Flower show, each year, except last, and have seen long term artists, disappearing or struggling.

No, if l had stayed with what l love doing, l wouldn't be doing it now, or even with recognition from exhibitions, would be struggling.

I may not be passionate about the stockmarket, (what l am doing now) but it has the potential to grow, and isn't subject to Australia being in a rut.

well the gallery probably shut down because ..well why do artist need to use the gallery system and share most of the money with the galleries .. when there are several avenues online to sell art for artist with skills to sell their art directly to the people who buy .. with things like etsy /ebay or amazon

good thing you are not an author you would think there would be no point writing books with ll the big and small bookstores closing .. when authors can get their book edited and self published.. and learn to market through amazon and other sites .

why go to stores or galleries or these places with limited selection and possibly inflated prices.. when as a customer .. you can look through 10,000 different items on your hone sitting on the bus to go to work

as for turning passions into businesses i know what keeps me passionate about doing something for 8 or more hours a day .. or at least for stretches of time each day.. so i spent time looking for a business /model that fit

hard to explain ..why i have focused on growing certain things and where .. lots of boring detail .. there is a difference between past time and passion .. and if i tried to turn my real passion into a past time .. no one would watch the video with me in then doin that ..

Turning something you love into your business model is fraught with danger. In the end, especially if you fail, you stand a good chance of damaging your feelings about something you once loved. If you are successful, what was once something you loved, could become something you loathe due to the fact that you can no longer pursue it, only when you want to. Your life and business will revolve around it, 24/7.

Whatever you do in life and business, you should approach with a lot of passion, but the things in your life that you are passionate about should be reserved for you time AWAY from work. Enjoying them allows you to recharge your batteries, clear your mind and then return to work reinvigorated which can only help you in your goal of achieving financial independence.

The three largest myths in IM.

1, "You must follow your passion."

      2. "You must build a list."

      3. "You must never quit."

forget just i'm ..it is almost at the point that don't do anything unless you are passionate about it ..or motivated.. or it will get you rich ..and if it looks like hard work it should be avoided ..

when humans are beast of burden who when they are doing hard work or what other consider hard work ..and they get better and better .. the passion then comes in .. and once they start working the motivation comes ..

No, Odahh, this gallery sold large, high end very expensive art, typically ranging from 2k up to 20, 30k.

Most was glass based, large and would be hell to post.

The Gallery closed, since the work was very expensive and in some cases, way overpriced. And to be honest Vic, wages have been near frozen for a good 10 years, while practically everything else goes up.

When a well know artist throws some paints onto a canvas, signs it and trys to sell it for 15k in a depressed market, then it will be very hard to near impossible.

Protecting investments or the business, so they can keep their present lifestyles is more important than spending excessive amounts for something that looks nice, and may show a profit.

oh so you where talking about the high end scam markets where certain atists work get picked to be worth a lot as investment..

then there is the arts who make art and use the internet to connect with people who buy art because ..investment be damned they like the way it looks ..and don't feel the need to spend small or sometimes large fortunes ..

the critical change with nearly everything today .. is that produces or makers cut down the number of hands between them and the end user /customer in many cases to zero .. so they can sell their work for a lot less than in the old system and make more money per piece..and make more pieces because they are not having to produce based on the shelf space in other people stores ..

the people with the financial ability to spend 10 k or 100, or 1 million for an art piece as some kind of investment ..also pay attention to the world market verse local

Sounds like you have identified an opportunity for an information product teaching people about the value of said art works. This would be another way to leverage your passion in the niche. Opportunities abound.

Just finished watching blah, blah Infinity War, and the first half bored me to tears but the second half was an improvement.

But it did have a happy ending so there was that.

About the only way l got through til the end was fast forwarding the mind numbing, fight scenes, and the mind numbing, "kill me if the evil guy with the glowing charm bracelet, gets me in a half nelson" chatter.

I will give it two rotten tomatoes, only because Tony Stark, almost had a leading role and l had access to a fast forward button.

PS Posts #96-97 are giving away some of this movies, highlights, so don't read those if you are silly enough to want to rent it?

Don't worry that thing has been out for a few years, so if anyone has taken this long to build up enough mental strength to handle this 2.30 hour onslaught, it doesn't matter all that much.

True the mass slaying was memorable, but if they have to do this, so they can win, then fair enough, I will just ignore the next one, when he gets sick of the sunset sittings and feels like crap, and slips up.

But they left Tony Stark alone, and got rid of that kid sidekick, so there is a glimmer of hope that the writers are not all on hard drugs, and have a house full of superhero dolls?

You do know that story behind this is apocryphal, right? That the scene was inserted into the screenplay by Dalton Trumbo to dramatize the solidarity of those accused of being Communist sympathizers during the McCarthy Era, who refused to implicate others, and were then blacklisted, themselves.

Both Mr. Trumbo and Howard Fast, the author of the novel on which the movie is based, were both blacklisted at the time.

OK. I confess I am not Spartacus.

that does not really even matter .. there is so much people think exists but doesn't and so much that exists and effects people lives and they know little about ..

so it comes down to how you let what may be real and may not be effect your experience

I have an enormous amount of passion for thrifting.

I like it because of the thrill of the hunt, and the history behind items. One of my sayings I liked for my eBay store was, "Rediscover | Restore | Resell". It basically explains me and what I dig about it. I feel like I am finding items for people, and not just selling them secondhand stuff. Almost like a personal shopper, but they didn't hire me. Maybe I am trying to church up the fact that I make a living buying things other people donated, and then charging people 10 - 100x more than what I paid for them.

I buy / resell for a living now, so the passion has unfortunately been pushed away from what was once a great hobby. I am still very passionate about sourcing, but the passion is dying slowly.

I also have a passion for teaching people, but as I started working for myself I began to become introverted. Odd because I have always been the center of attention, but now I struggle to have healthy adult conversation. I am basically the Stay-At-Home parent that overshares with the cashier at the store :-( I would love to teach people about reselling, but I need to reset my newest habits, so I can get out of my comfort zone. This is actually one of the reasons I joined this forum.

Good question. Sorry for the long-winded answer. I hope you are having a great day!

Of course not. Let's be honest - it's impossible to have a meaningful existence if you are going to clutter it up with material possessions that might, perish the thought, contribute to your happiness at some level.

When you really think about it, it's easy to see how nice things should simply no longer be produced as a first-step to everyone being able to more easily achieve a state of Nirvana.

I'm putting my house up for sale and buying a yurt.

I like manga drawing and robotics way before internet marketing.

In fact my name Amuro is derived from 1979 Japanese animation series Mobile Suit Gundam's main character Amuro Rey.

I am also a huge collector of toy robots especially Gundam and Transformers which I have been and still obsessed since childhood.

I also have websites promoting those from Amazon.

You will find your passions change over time. When I was younger I was passionate about building my businesses and sports... now my passion is helping people. Sounds corny perhaps, but that includes guiding my family to success in life and helping others when they encounter misfortunes. And yes, there is a business in helping others!

True for some, possibly - but, not all. The thing that I am most passionate about has not been supplanted in over 60 years. That's true passion. :-)

Right now I am busy learning video editing, in fact, I tried to enroll in some online tutorials. I am learning a lot right now. It's been my passion but hasn't had time to pursue it before because I am busy working outside but now I am a freelancer, I have time to pursue it. I like to be a good video editor, photographer as well. I like to be professional when it comes to this thing, a passion that will drive me to success. I am enjoying while learning, that's very important if you have a goal in life.

    Hi....
When you're asked what you are passionate about during a job interview, it's a good opportunity to share hobbies, enthusiasms, or whatever is important in your life.

The hiring manager is looking to learn as much as possible about you and what you can bring to the company in addition to the skills that qualify you for the job.
    Thanks for this post...

    Hi,

Truthfully, not everyone is passionate about spreadsheets, crisis management, or corporate meetings. And lots of candidates aren't sure whether this is the right time to highlight their best office skills, or to detail their love of sailing. It's an open-ended question, with plenty of room for error.
    Thanks!

eSports. However, the market is only an investment as for now. The young generation is unreachable, unless via sources like this, but they do not buy stuff. However, if you have a customer for all its life - the value will be great later on.

An Italian, a Frenchman Called Claude and an Aussie called Whatty were talking about screams of passion

The Italian said: "Last night I massaged my wife all over her body with the finest extra virgin olive oil, then we made passionate love and I made her scream, non stop for five minutes." The Frenchman said: "Last night I massaged my wife all over her body with special aphrodisiac oil from Provence and then we made passionate love.

I made her scream for fifteen minutes straight." The Aussie said: That's nothing! Last night I massaged my wife, ya'know, all over her body with a special butter. I caressed her entire body with the butter, and then made love and I made her scream for two long hours."

The Italian and Frenchman, are astonished, and asked?, "Two full hours?..... Wow! that's unbelievable. How did you do it to make her scream for two hours?"

The Aussie replied,"I wiped my hands on the curtains."

It would bore you to tears. Watching me write, read, joke with my wife...eat lunch, second lunch, snacks, early supper, supper, second supper, desert.

Wait on a few customers...then go home to exercise (No joke), and read.

I used to have guys in my business fly in for a day, to see how I made so many sales, at my retail store. They would be bored to death. Why? Most of what i do in selling is invisible.

I stopped doing these visits from other dealers, because they weren't getting what they wanted, a show.

And yeah, this is from my car at a petrol station, l tried signing up, having my temp, taken and so forth, to get a coffee, but thought this way was more relaxing,....still deciding?

Yes, in AU currently or our state, we have to leave our phone number, name and time in order to get a coffee, cake and whatever, (some demand hand sanitizing and pointing a temperature gun at our foreheads).

Takeaway none of that, so l am staying with the latter, at least til next week when library's reopen, (probably sneak in there).

I'm passionate about music, and the arts in general, but music above all. I started paying attention to music in high school in a silly, desperate attempt to fit in with my peers (it didn't work). But in the process I became very passionate about it (probably why it didn't work; I took it too far, to the point of where people thought it was weird. lol). I'd love to do something professionally with music, but I highly doubt that will happen. I had some plans for it with my musician friend, but they never really took off, and now he's caught up in a bunch of other business endeavors.

I would like to say i'm passionate about working out but the way you describe "passion" here was "something that you do that dissolves the world around you" and I just can't honestly say exercise does that for me haha. But aside from that I would say reading/ learning. I enjoy mostly non-fiction books.

I'm passionate about writing and storytelling. I love writing. Unfortunately, I can't spend my time doing it because I make very little writing fiction, but if I could I'd bury myself for days with a laptop and nothing else around but a coffee pot in a hotel room with a desk.

This is one reason why I'm here. I have a website and I'm trying to figure out this marketing SEO issue with a fiction site. All of the stories are different so the keywords "scary stories" or "horror stories" don't exactly fit in naturally except in tags and intros I guess. It's frustrating to rank.

I am audio and content producer. So I obviously have a passion for music. I realized later, that my fascination with how records sounded and the attention to detail I paid when listening fit perfectly into the role of being an audio engineer and music producer. Now I have six years of experience in overseeing all aspects of advertising coordination, content production, audio engineering.
