Can't Be There, Appear As a Hologram

Well, it's not the Star Trek Transporter...But using a bit of tech, special camera's and a plain backdrop, you can now be in a meeting as a full sized hologram of yourself. You can also see and hear others. In my workplace they had a meeting room with a large screen tv and camera's that would move to person talking. So, virtual meetings between campuses could take place.

This takes it further, you can appear in 4k resolution and you appear in a receptacle.

Imagine having a full size hologram of Claude in your living room when you call him. Perhaps not.

Check it out....

So - even if you don't go to work - you have to dress as if you are going to work? How is that a good thing?

    My worst nightmare come true.

And the box idea is cute, but not very practical, (a 4k large screen that can handle 3D images, would be better.

And funny l predicted here, about 4 or more years ago that we would have holographic phones, by 2022, 23.

Your aware that 3D TV's (that required glasses) have not been made for a number of years. And there is no tech based on them that can do this. Oh yes, Sony Trinitron guy.

I was thinking more along the lines of 3D spacial tv's that require no glasses.

    This is fantastic!

Maybe I should create an app that gives everyone 6 pack abs in the metaverse/hologramverse.

  • tbh I would naht wish for the best feachures of my perkiture to accidentally strike out an eyeball.

I get this in the mall real regulah without no way crazy 4D tech to pinpoint its summonin' focus 'pon what was pinpointin' kinda natchrl anyways.

Yeah but if'n we gaht holograms for real I would wanna throw on a cape.

I gaht shouldahs can kinda hold a cape.

Great ost!! Being a lifelong Star Trek fan this technology is starting to get close to the tech used on that show! I know of at least one local co which has a conference 'smart' room where this tech is being utilized! As the economics of scale grows, its only a matter of time before this becomes ubiquitous!

Will their eventually be a market for an app that places a shield around your room or home/office so that holograms cannot enter without permission?
