    Yup.

    I don't remember who posted it, but someone here posted a very well thought out argument about gun ownership that I found compelling.

    And I read an argument against the $15 minimum wage that I thought was really well thought out.

    I learned to write better and be on my toes more when presenting an argument or making a bold statement. Their are some sharp minds here who will tear you to shreds.

    Also, not to get offended when you get owned.

    One of the things that has stuck with me for years? is something Claude wrote about not needing external motivation to get moving towards your goals. At the time I was surprised and motivated at the same time because I had never thought of it the way he put it. Even though this is the OT/chat/BS subforum, that has stuck with me even more than most of the things posted upstairs.

    I also have learned more about who people really are because the real them comes out at certain times especially when discussing a hot topic like COVID or even how to treat wait staff or similar.
